The 20 Greatest Doctor Who Companions of All Time

Ace

The final companion in the original series, Ace is one of the most popular characters ever included on Doctor Who. She is a teenager from 20th-century Perivale (a suburb of London), and she has a rebellious streak with brains to match. She has a fascination with explosives — probably in no small part a reflection of her troubled past. Of course, she puts this knowledge to good use throughout the 31 episodes that she served as a companion for the Seventh Doctor. Unfortunately, the end of Ace’s story isn’t known for sure due to the cancellation of the show. However, it is important to note that media not a part of the main series suggests that Ace ended up in 19th-century France. In fact, the Doctor visited her in the novelization of The Curse of Fenric — she was older, and living in Paris in 1887.
