1. Don’t Rush and Know Your Starting Point
Across his time on multiple TV shows, Bromstad has always stated that you should never rush the process of transforming your home. When it comes to completely transforming your home, it can be difficult to know where to start, which can lead to something known as “paralysis by analysis”. When speaking with Barron Designs, Bromstad said: “Start with the areas you use the most. So your kitchen, your living space, your main suite.” However, he stated that if this approach makes you anxious, you can do the following: “If you’re nervous, start with a guest bedroom and see how you do. Use that as a jumping-off point.”
2. Leverage Your Colors
One of the main things David Bromstad is renowned for is his fearless approach to colors. He often mixes together colors that may seem extravagant, but by doing so, he creates a totally unique look. His keen eye for detail has often been praised for being able to pinpoint exactly what colors will clash and what will accent each other perfectly. Because you have to find the furniture that’s within your budget, you have to find all the accessories that you really, really love. Paint is the most inexpensive thing that you can buy to transform a space.”

Bromstad states that if your home has existing dark woods, this can be a perfect opportunity to utilize a simple white wall, making for a dazzling yet subtle contrast. You can lay them close together, you can lay them in a crisscross fashion, which gives it a more formal feel.
