Rudy Ramos isn’t the kind of actor who grew up knowing that he would work in the entertainment industry. In fact, acting was the furthest thing from his mind when he was younger. However, once Rudy was introduced to the possibility of becoming an actor, he knew that he didn’t want to do anything else. He has been acting professionally for more than 50 years and he is still going strong. Most recently, he played Felix Long in the popular TV series Yellowstone. Although his time on the show has come to an end, Rudy’s fans will be happy to know that he will be in a movie called Dream which is set to be released in 2023. 1. He’s From Oklahoma

Rudy was born and raised in Oklahoma and he comes from an indigenous family. He told The Oklahoman, “I was a street kid. I was born on the south side of Lawton, Oklahoma, and my neighborhood was right by the railroad tracks. And on the other side of those tracks was where the black section of town was at that time because at that time it was segregated. So, I grew up with blacks and with Kiowa-Comanche Indians in that section of town.”

2. He’s Not Into Social Media

Being active on social media has been a great way for actors to build their brands and even gain access to more opportunities. However, it’s simply not something Rudy is interested in doing. From what we can tell, he doesn’t have any official social media profiles.

3. He’s Done Voice Work

Rudy has spent the vast majority of his career doing live-action work. Most people don’t even know that he’s also done some voice acting over the years. In 1983, he did voice work for more than a dozen episodes of Alvin & the Chipmunks. Those appear to be his only voice acting credits.

4. He’s A Musician

Acting isn’t the only area of the arts that Rudy has fallen in love with. He also enjoys being able to express himself through song and he is a very talented musician. In 1972, he released an album called Hard Knocks and Bad Times. To date, this is the only album he has released.

5. He Got Into Acting By Accident

As mentioned earlier, Rudy didn’t grow up thinking that he wanted to be an actor. However, when he moved to Los Angeles during the 1960s, the entertainment industry basically found him. Once he was introduced to acting, Rudy never looked back. Since then, he has been able to sustain himself through his acting work.

6. He’s Quiet About His Private Life

Most people who have been in the business for as long as Rudy have gotten pretty comfortable with sharing details about themselves. However, Rudy has always been the kind of person who prefers to keep his personal life out of the spotlight. Very little is known about him outside of his acting career.

7. He Has Theater Experience

Actors typically gravitate towards on-screen work because it brings much more notoriety and money than theater. However, the stage will always have an extra special place in Rudy’s heart. In fact, he has even traveled across the country performing a one-man show called Geronimo, Life on the Reservation.

8. He Enjoys Working with Kevin Costner

While it’s true that Rudy hasn’t had lots of starring roles throughout his career, he has still gotten to work with some of the biggest names in the business. One of them is the legendary Kevin Costner. When describing what it was like to work with Costner, Rudy told the Southwest Ledger that Costner is a “good storyteller”.

9. He Was A College Athlete

When Rudy was growing up, sports were his main focus. Not only did he enjoy sports, but it’s also something that he was very good at. During high school, he was on the basketball and track and field teams. He then went on to play basketball at Cameron College. He was on the team for two years.

10. Yellowstone is the Highlight of His Career

Getting cast in Yellowstone was a life-changing opportunity for Rudy. After years in the industry, the series provided him with an opportunity he’d never had before. In his interview with The Oklahoman, Rudy said that Yellowstone was the “highlight” of his career. He added, “This is the best role I’ve ever had, this is the best work I’ve ever done, this is the best cast and crew I’ve ever been around. … Everything just fell into place; it felt natural and right at home with everybody”.
