Born and raised in Australia, Callan McAuliffe was just a kid when he came into the entertainment industry. While it’s no secret how difficult it can be for children to survive the industry and have successful careers as adults, Callan has managed to defy the odds. Now in his mid-20s, he has shown that he is here to stay. Over the last few years, he has gotten lots of attention for his role as Alden in The Walking Dead, and his fan base has grown tremendously thanks to his time on the show. 1. He Is Good At Doing Accents

Most actors will find themselves having to act in a different accent at least once in their careers. Unfortunately, switching between accents can be very challenging for lots of actors and they often struggle to do them effectively. Callan, however, is a natural when it comes to changing it up and this skill has undoubtedly helped him in his career.

2. He Used To Run Track

In addition to being a talented actor, Callan is also a skilled athlete. He competed in track and field until an injury brought an early end to his career. We weren’t able to find any information on exactly which events he participated in. Even though his days as a competitive athlete may be over, Callan still likes to get out and be active as much as possible.

3. He Is Passionate About Helping Others

Since the early days of his career, Callan has been the type of star who likes to use his platform to give back to those in need. He has worked with several charity organizations over the years including a non-profit organization called Wolf Connection. He was also appointed as a UNICEF National Ambassador in 2013

4. He Is An Author

Callan has been focused on acting for most of his life, but recently he decided to venture into new territory. In 2018, he released his first book, The Hill Ghost. The book takes place in rural Scotland in the 19th century. It’s unclear if he has plans to release another book.

5. He Speaks More Than One Language

Callan isn’t just good at learning accents, he’s also good with languages. During an interview with DaMan in 2012, Callan said, “I am currently playing with learning French (given I have Aussie/French friends) but also for fun, Mandarin. In the past, I have learned both Japanese and Indonesian.”

6. He Is A Musician

Callan is truly a creative person through and through and he loves exploring ways to express himself. In addition to acting and writing, music is something else he likes to do. He likes to sing and he plays several instruments. That said, it doesn’t appear that Callan has any plans to pursue music at the professional level.

7. He Is An Outdoors Kind Of Guy

Callan loves animals and he is very passionate about taking care of the environment. When he gets time off from work, he loves to spend it exploring the beauty of nature and all of the things it has to offer. He also earned the Duke of Edinburgh Award for Outdoor Survival.

8. He Likes To Travel

Traveling is the best way for people to expand their views on the world, and Callan is lucky to be in a position that has allowed him to travel near and far. Over the course of his career, he has gotten to visit lots of places across Europe and other parts of the world including India.

9. He Was In A Video Game

Most of Callan’s fans are familiar with the work he’s done on the screen, but many may not be as familiar with the fact that he’s also a voice actor. He voiced several characters in the 2018 video game Return of the Obra Dinn. To date, this is his only voice role but it wouldn’t be surprising if he decides to do more voice work in the future.

10. He Was In An Episode Of Homeland

Every actor looks forward to the day they get the chance to appear in a well-established project. For Callan, that opportunity has come several times in his career. In 2014, he appeared in an episode of Homeland as a character named Tom. While the role was pretty small, it played a role in helping him get more opportunities in the future.
