While we eagerly anticipate the next episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, there are still some clips out there from Friday’s show that are worth sharing. While I’m sure that he’s going to rip into President Trump’s immigration ban (or maybe he’ll take a serious approach), we still have some time for a laugh. Speaking of which, Matthew Broderick stopped by the show and reminded us all that he’s still a funny guy, and that also he could always use some work.
It’s hard to even fathom that today’s Matthew Broderick is the same guy that played Ferris Bueller or that he was the crazy genius kid in WarGames, but here he was doing a pretty hilarious skit with Colbert. Last January the show set up a real phone number for Matt which you can see above. The phone number allowed people to post their queries for work needed. Clearly they didn’t know this was for Broderick, or did they? People actually responded and Colbert shared some of the best real job offers for Matt.
One of which is in this clip. Dave Thomas from Kentucky doesn’t like cleaning gutters. He offered Matt $25 an hour to do the job with an added bonus of a free hot meal. Broderick chuckled at the thought of heading down to Kentucky to do some gutter cleaning and the audience laughed as well.
At least Mr. Broderick knows that if the acting thing doesn’t pan out he’s got a whole slew of people who responded to his advertisement. Thanks Stephen Colbert! Always creating American jobs, right?
