While Stranger Things was one of the most exciting shows to ever hit Netflix, for a good reason, as shown with literally every single episode. However, while characters like Steve Harrington and even Season 4’s newest and shortest-lived main character, Eddie Munson, have been fan favorites, the ultimately most compelling character throughout all of Stranger Things overall has been Eleven, portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown. Millie Bobby Brown has shown remarkable skills in acting, especially her work with the world built around her in Stranger Things and the abilities she must possess within the show. However, the talented actress has also lent her skills beyond Stranger Things. Below, we’ve detailed the career of Millie Bobby Brown outside of Stranger Things and the impressive roles she has taken in various projects.
Millie Bobby Brown
Millie Bobby Brown started her career young, as noted by her age when she started Stranger Things and the age of the character she portrayed on Stranger Things. However young the actress was when she started acting, she has had some pretty significant roles, however small. The actress was born in 2004 to British parents, although she was born in Spain before moving to Florida to continue her career in the United States when she was eight. While it wasn’t until three years before Stranger Things that Millie Bobby Brown started her career with an acting debut, the actress has since been named in Time Magazine in their World’s Most Influential lists. In addition, she has been appointed brand ambassador for many worldwide brands, alongside a modeling career.
Millie Bobby Brown in Stranger Things
Although Millie Bobby Brown moved to the United States when she was 8, it wasn’t until 2016 that Millie Bobby Brown was cast in Stranger Things and the rest of her career started to take shape. However, while Millie Bobby Brown played the lead character in the supernatural 80s-themed Stranger Things, her roles before and after her first appearance in Stranger Things don’t reflect that genre as much as one would expect.
Millie Bobby Brown Before Stranger Things
Before Millie Bobby Brown was cast in her most famous role, Eleven in Stranger Things, she was on a few television series, such as her first acting debut on the short-lived spinoff of Once Upon A Time, Once Upon A Time in Wonderland as Young Alice. Millie Bobby Brown’s closest role to Stranger Things in supernatural genres was the BBC America supernatural thriller Intruders. Millie Bobby Brown’s other work outside of Stranger Things doesn’t include films before she started the show. Still, her other television credits before Stranger Things include the comedy Modern Family, the police drama NCIS, and the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
After Stranger Things Start
From her few but noteworthy television appearances, before and outside of Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown started to appear in some films. Most fans may notice her from being a main character throughout the two most recent Godzilla movies, Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong. While the two Godzilla films weren’t necessarily supernatural in any way, the overall theme of the Monsterverse coming alive and being a new threat to inhabitants of Earth was the perfect fit for Millie Bobby Brown outside of Stranger Things. While Millie Bobby Brown’s credits are pretty short outside of Stranger Things, the actress has also appeared as the main character, Enola Holmes, in the film of the same name and its upcoming sequel for Netflix.
Other Work Outside of Stranger Things
Besides her work in the Godzilla films and television shows like Modern Family and Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown has also appeared in digital form. Millie Boby Brown has previously worked with the developers of The Sims 4 to include herself in the game as part of an event, something that shouldn’t come as a surprise as The Sims 4 has been one of the most constantly updated video games since its release. Also, digitally, outside of Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown was the narrator for an augmented reality experience called Spheres: Songs of Spacetime. Interestingly, what some wouldn’t expect from Millie Bobby Brown outside of Stranger Things is that the actress has appeared in several music videos and a television special for Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special. On top of her appearance as herself in Mariah Carey’s television special, Millie Bobby Brown has also appeared in her Happy Anniversary, All I Want For Christmas Is You! music video, as well as music videos for Maroon 5, Drake, The xx, and Sigma.
