Although most of his career has been filled with success, positivity, and love and support from fans, things are looking a little different these days. 1. He Studied Fashion
Since Karan is an actor, it’s easy to assume that that’s what he decided to focus his studies on. In reality, though, that wasn’t the case. Karan went to the National Institute of Fashion Technology where he studied fashion design. Although he ended up choosing a career in a different field, he’s never abandoned his love for fashion.
2. He Is An Entrepreneur
Karan isn’t just creative, he has a business side, too. He is the founder of a t-shirt line called Roots & Wings. He is also the co-founder of a company called Vo(lo)kal. According to the business’ website, “Vo(lo)kal is a hyper local discovery and influencer based media firm which aims at creating one stop engagement digital platform for users who can network,engage and evolve together as one vo(lo)kal community.”
3. He Competed On A Reality TV Show
Acting isn’t the only experience Karan has with being in front of a camera. He has also dabbled in the reality TV world. Over the years, he has appeared as a contestant on three reality competition shows: Zee Punjabi Antakshari, Nach Baliye Shriman v/s Shrimati, and Nach Baliye 5.
4. He Has Behind-The-Scenes Experience
Karan’s journey in the entertainment industry has been more diverse than a lot of people realize. In addition to acting, he has also done some work on the other side of the camera. According to his page on IMDB, Karan has two credits as an assistant costume designer.

If you’re not familiar with Karan’s career, you may look at his resume and be underwhelmed. After all, he technically only five TV credits and he’s never done any movies. However, what’s impressive about his career is the fact that he was in 1,951 episodes of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. In English, the title of the show translates to “What Is This Relationship Called”.
