The Eternity cast comprises some of Hollywood’s top stars. The A24 fantasy rom-com is one of the studio’s last films to be released in 2025. The movie is David Freyne’s third feature-length film and second romantic comedy. Having premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Eternity received generally positive reviews from critics. The film is set for theatrical release on November 14, 2025.
Eternity’s plot examines what happens after death, but with a twist. In the movie, once people die, they arrive in an in-between afterlife realm called “The Junction.” In The Junction, their souls are given exactly one week to choose where to spend forever. The heart of the story is Joan, who faces an emotionally wrenching choice in The Junction. She must decide between Larry, the man she built her life with, and Luke, her first love who died in a war and has been waiting in the afterlife for her arrival. Elizabeth Olsen as Joan
Emmy-nominated actress Elizabeth Olsen co-leads the Eternity cast as Joan, a recently deceased woman who finds herself in the strange in-between afterlife realm. Like many who believe in the afterlife, Joan is pleased to be reunited with her husband, with whom she lived and built a life. However, things take a turn when she comes face-to-face with her first true love, who died decades ago in a war.
Joan must choose, within a week, with whom she wants to spend eternity. Elizabeth Olsen is no stranger to the big screen. The actress is famous for portraying Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, beyond her mainstream success, Olsen has consistently demonstrated indie success over the years, having starred in several critically acclaimed indie films.
Miles Teller as Larry Cutler
Miles Teller also joins the Eternity cast as one of the male leads, playing Larry Cutler. As expected, Larry is somewhat confused after he wakes up in the afterlife. Although things aren’t what he expects the afterlife to be, he takes comfort when he sees his one and only wife in The Junction.
Just when he prepares to spend eternity with his wife, Joan, he is dragged into a love triangle when his wife’s dead ex-husband contends to fight him for his wife’s heart and love. Having begun his professional acting career in 2004, Miles Teller has spent the last two decades starring in several blockbuster movies and TV series. He’s famous for roles in The Spectacular Now (2013), Divergent film trilogy (2014–2016), Whiplash (2014), War Dogs (2016), and Top Gun: Maverick (2022).
Callum Turner as Luke
English actor Callum Turner joins the Eternity cast as Luke. His character is introduced in the afterlife as Joan’s ex-husband. Luke had waited for over six decades to be reunited with his wife, so that they could spend eternity together. His decades-long plan is put in jeopardy when he’s also drawn into a love triangle that leaves Joan uncertain about whomwho to take with her to Forever. Before his portrayal of Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts film series, Callum Turner was known for his roles in Queen and Country (2014) and Glue miniseries. In recent years, Callum starred in The Boys in the Boat (2023) and Masters of the Air (2024).
Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Anna
Academy Award-winning actress Da’Vine Joy Randolph joins the Eternity cast in a supporting role as Anna. Every deceased human is assigned a coordinator in The Junction to help their week-long stay comfortable enough to make the right decision on where, and with whom, to spend eternity. Randolph’s Anna is Larry Cutler’s afterlife coordinator. With a career spanning slightly over a decade, Da’Vine Joy Randolph is famous for her Oscar-winning role as Mary Lamb in the 2023 Christmas comedy-drama The Holdovers. She’s also known for her roles in This Is Us (2016), Empire (2017–2018), The Lost City (2022), and Only Murders in the Building.
John Early as Ryan
The multi-talented John Early also joins the Eternity cast in a supporting role as Ryan. The comedian actor-singer is introduced in The Junction as Joan’s afterlife coordinator. Like other coordinators, his job is to ensure Joan’s week runs smoothly as she makes her decision on where to spend eternity. Although not a famous actor like the other top Eternity cast, John Early adds humor to the movie. John Early is known for his roles in Fort Tilden (2014), Search Party (2016–2022), and The Afterparty (2022–2023).
