The 20 Greatest Doctor Who Companions of All Time

Tegan

This character served as a companion for the Fourth and Fifth Doctors. She appeared in 64 episodes, and first met the Doctor on accident. She had entered the TARDIS to seek help for a flat tire, not knowing that it was the time machine. She starts traveling with the Doctor after her aunt is killed by the Master, but always has the end goal of getting to Heathrow Airport to make it to her new job. She’s got a great personality that really brings the small screen to life: she’s loud, direct, and a definite no-nonsense type. Her adventures in the TARDIS do take a toll on her mental health. She eventually must bid goodbye to the Doctor (and Turlough) just to preserve what is left of her mind. It is an emotional moment, but an excellent wrap-up to one of the best companions on the show.
