If you stayed glued to your TV screens for all six seasons of this series, it’s easy to see why it has not been easy to let go so quickly. With the last episode, Us, airing on May 24, 2022, viewers were left in tears watching the Big Three of the Pearsons take a look back on their life and attempt to create a new perspective.
With the journey starting from the show’s first episode on September 20, 2016, we’ve practically become family with the Pearsons. So it’s only fair to want to know what lies ahead for each cast member. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll get to see a This Is Us movie. Anyway, while we do not intend to hold our breath on that, here’s what cast members have been up to or what plans they have for the future.
Milo Ventimiglia

Thanks to showrunner Dan Fogelman, we could have Jack Pearson stick around for much longer after he died in the This Is Us series. We cannot deny that this endeared us to Milo Ventimiglia’s character. Moving on from the series, Milo Ventimiglia is reportedly starring in a new ABC drama, The Company You Keep. While the series is expected to debut in early 2023, Milo Ventimiglia would play the role of a con man.
According to an official source in ABC, the series follows the story of a con man (Milo Ventimiglia) falling in love with a CIA operative. However, if you’re a Milo Ventimiglia fan, you would also get to see him in the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He’ll be making a comeback as the Handsome Man, who made a brief appearance in Season 4 as a passing lust interest for Rachel Brosnahan’s titular character.
Mandy Moore

Even Mandy Moore has revealed she wasn’t prepared for how Rebecca Pearson’s journey would end. We all watched as Rebecca battled Alzheimer’s until her emotional death at the end of the series. After such a remarkable performance, Mandy Moore has revealed she’ll be taking a step away from television for a while. As sad as this may be for her fans, it’s all for a good cause. Not only is she pregnant with her second child, but she has also said she wants to focus more on her music career for now.
Sterling K. Brown

He starred as Randall Pearson and was a delight to watch. He showed us what it meant to be a trusted son, husband, and father. Sterling is a famous face on television (movies and series) and, as such, will be returning to your screens much sooner than later. You can catch him in the comedy film, Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul as Lee-Curtis Childs. Sterling K. Brown would also be cast as Medwin Harris in a new TV series adaptation of Esi Edugyan’s Washington Black novel.
Justin Hartley

Justin Hartley played one of the most relatable characters in the series. We all watched as Kevin Pearson struggled to find himself and his purpose. Even Justin Hartley admits that Kevin Pearson’s character played a pivotal role in his acting career. If you’re a fan of Justin Hartley or how graciously he played Kevin, watch out for his return as Jacob Turner on the new Netflix romance movie The Noel Diary. You can also watch him play Colter Shaw in CBS’ new drama, The Never Game.
Chris Sullivan

In the concluded This Is Us series, Chris Sullivan plays Toby, husband to Kate. Toby and Kate’s marriage reflected how marriages can end in divorce, no matter how hard one party wants to hang on to it. In the end, it was relieving to know that Toby finally understood Kate’s statement that he’ll one day “see it” and understand why they were now better apart.
If you were eagerly rooting for Toby and disappointed by the sad ending of his marriage, you could catch up with Sullivan as he’s cast to play a lead role in ABC’s sitcom pilot, The Son in Law. He’s also said to star in the series, The Calling as Paul Serra.
Chrissy Metz

Chrissy Metz played the role of Kate Pearson. She was a regular face for all six seasons of the series. According to Chrissy, life after the This Is Us series will see her focusing on her music career.
