San Diego Comic-Con: The 100 Star Henry Ian Cusick Talks Kane’s Upcoming Stories, Relationship With Abby

The 100

At San Diego Comic-Con, I was able to speak to the cast and crew of several of my favorite shows. At the press room round tables for The 100which I cover weekly for TVOvermind, I was able to speak with Henry Ian Cusick (Marcus Kane) about what’s coming up for Kane, as well as the rest of the show in Season 4.

Cusick was asked what Kane’s journey is going to be like in Season 4. “I think Kane’s going to pick up where he left off,” Cuisck said, which is exactly where Season 4 picks up. “Episode 1 of Season 4 picks up just where we left off,” he continued. But he continued in regards to Kane’s journey. Kane will have to find a way to deal with the “carnage” from the end of Season 3, as well as what’s coming next. Cusick speculates that Kane will be looking for a peaceful way to help his people live side by side with the grounders “for the next 6 months until we all get wiped out.”

When asked if Kane would be experiencing any fallout or post-traumatic stress from losing control of his body to Alie Cusick said, “I think that’s something that’s going to affect pretty much everyone. They’ve been through something pretty awful.” I couldn’t agree more, sir. “I hope we get to see some of that on-screen,” Cusick added, citing that their “action-packed” show doesn’t always get to explore everything that they’d like to explore.

Now, here’s some scoop on the thing everyone REALLY wants to know about, Kane and Abby’s relationship. “We all know that they are ‘a thing’,” Cusick said. “I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen, but Jason did say I should start working out,” he joked. He added that the romantic relationship between the two of them caught him by surprise. “I always knew there was tension, I just never realized it was sexual,” Cusick said.

With Jaha, Kane, and Abby back together, there is speculation of a power vacuum for the Sky People. “I don’t think Kane and Abby will be fighting anymore. Not in that way,” Cusick said.

It was a pleasure to sit down with a star of the show that I love so much. More still to come from my Comic-Con adventures!

What do you guys think? How will this information affect the way you prepare for Season 4? Let us know in the comments!
