One thing you have to appreciate about the upcoming Baywatch movie is that so far it looks like this movie not only expressing 100% what the movie is, but it’s making fun of it at the same time. Audiences of the television show always loved the glistening, toned bodies of all the lifeguards. The show made no mistake about featuring bathing suits, sweat, and slow running on the beach. Put it this way, Baywatch never, ever hid who they were and what drove people to the show.
From the looks of things, this movie isn’t hiding anything either. Aside from the one chubby guard, look at these guards. Are you kidding me? Zac Efron and Dwyane Johnson are about as toned as possible and Kelly Rohrach is going to make Pamela Anderson proud.
But remember folks, the movie is going for the 21 Jump Street angle. There will be a real plot and actual story here but the movie is 100% going to be tongue in cheek making fun of itself more often that not. I personally think that’s the right direction for this film. As long as it’s looked at as a comedy above all else I think it should be a fun movie to watch.
