La La Land Gets the 8-Bit Cinema Treatment

I have a full out confession to make.  I’ve never seen La La Land and I never will.   I happen to be a huge opponent of these over the top musical type movies that pay homage to the “old Hollywood.”  I can’t stand this stuff.  I mean have you ever seen guys like Humphrey Bogart even act?  That wasn’t acting.  It just wasn’t.  It was an over the top method of saying dialogue that simply wasn’t spoken in real life.  I could do an entire paper on this for college only I’m not in college and I don’t feel like writing a paper.  Let’s just say I never thought the “golden days” of Hollywood were filled with skillful portrayals of characters.

Today’s acting is more raw and mimics real life 100 times better and more accurately than the older days.  With that said, seeing La La Land as an 8-bit NES type movie is the one thing I will watch.  And with Oscars time coming on Sunday, people are still trying to learn more about the film that’s been nominated for more awards than any other movie in the history of the Academy Awards.

While I sit in my house sulking that Deadpool wasn’t nominated for best picture, at least I can watch this Sebastian and Mia romance in the form of an NES video game.
