Ruffalo posted the teaser for the series on his Instagram page, along with the caption, “We can all use a little more love right now.” This says everything you need to know about what the series holds in store for viewers and fans of family eccentric comedies.
The teaser features clips that give an inside look into the emotional rollercoaster ride that viewers are about to embark on. It also highlights little snippets of the drama yet to unfold for a single father and his seven and nine-year-old children, played by adult actors Reinhart and Raiff. Official details about the plot remain under wraps, but the storyline is set to revolve around two siblings as they try to hold on to their childhood despite their single father who forces them to grow up way too fast. The storyline offers a refreshing take on a family that hasn’t been shown on TV before, a 56-year-old single father longs for his children to mature quickly, to the point where the characters are played by adults. The upcoming series is a family comedy-drama, so expect the unexpected and some heartwarming moments to go along with it.
Raiff describes Hal & Harper as a passion project, during a 2020 interview for his first feature film Shithouse when the filmmaker spoke a little bit about Hal & Harper. He explained the plotline to be about two siblings and a single dad who is making them grow up too fast — so fast that the seven and nine-year-old characters would be played by adult actors. That being said, Raiff’s passion project is about to finally have its day in the sun, and the storyline already holds a lot of excitement for the imagination.
The Star-Studded Cast of Hal & Harper Will Reel You In
The storyline is one thing, and the star-studded cast is another. Hal & Harper already promises to blow the audience away with the sheer amount of star power attached to it. Reinhart and Raiff are reportedly cast to play the siblings, Harper and Hal, while Ruffalo will play the father. It’s also been revealed that Addison Timlin and Havana Rose Liu have also been cast in the upcoming series. Timlin, who is best known for her roles in Blackout and American Horror Stories, has been cast as Audrey.
