The fourth season of Teen Mom OG has begun and the original cast of the MTV reality show “16 and Pregnant” have been up to a lot. The spinoff of “16 and Pregnant” follows the young women as they and their children have grown up since starring in the 2009 series. The show was meant to depict the realities and difficulties of being pregnant while still in high school. It maintains its loyal followers who want to see how the 4 girls depicted from the beginning have managed being a young mother and the difficulties it brings.

Maci Bookout McKinney
Maci Bookout McKinney seems to be the one young lady from the reality series who is the most stable now. Maci was born in Tennessee in 1991. When she was 16, she became pregnant with her boyfriend, Ryan Edwards, and the show followed her pregnancy and first few months of motherhood following the birth of their son Bentley. She dated a childhood friend, Kyle King, before meeting Tyler McKinney, a Texas motor cross racer.
Maci and Tyler had a baby together, Jayden in 2015 and married in 2016. The proposal was a part of Teen Mom OG. The couple have a son Maverick born in 2016. Today, the couple remains happily married and Maci shares custody of Bentley with his dad. Maci and Tyler have even said they are considering becoming a foster family in the future. Maci has been successful with her memoirs, “Bulletproof” published in 2016 and “I Wasn’t Born Bulletproof: Lessons I’ve Learned So You Don’t Have To” which will be released next month. The memoirs offer an introspective and humorous look at Maci’s challenges.
Amber Portwood
Amber Portwood returns in Teen Mom OG, season 4, and remains as controversial as ever. Amber was born in Indiana in 1990 and had her first child at 18 years old. Leah’s father is Gary Shirley whom Amber had dated since they were 16. Since the birth of their child, Amber and Gary have had a tumultuous and sometimes violent relationship. Amber has suffered depression and drug abuse and served 17 months in prison.
Today, she says she is sober and only takes medication to treat her Bi-Polar Disorder. She is engaged to Matt Baier, a 45 year old radio DJ with 5 kids of his own. Gary has exploited the relationship on Teen Moms. Amber runs an online fashion store, “Be Forever Haute”. Baier is releasing a memoir next month titled “You Have No F—ing Idea”.
Catelynn Lowell Baltierra
Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra have dated since they were 14 years old. Catelynn as born in 1991 in Michegan. Her teenage pregnancy was documented on “16 and Pregnant”. The couple made the difficult decision to give their daughter up for adoption. Their daughter Novalee “Nova” was born in January 2015 and the couple married that year. Following the birth of Nova, Catelynn experienced severe postpartum anxiety and depression. She went to an Arizona treatment center.
Tyler and Catelynn have had their relationship ups and downs over the year and are working on their communication with each other and trying to spend time alone. Tyler wants to expand the family and hopes for a son. Catelynn is afraid of going through postpartum depression again and is reluctant although she would like more children.
Farrah Abraham
Farrah Abraham remains one of the more controversial of the four young ladies from the Teen Mom series. Farah was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1991. Her parents, Debra and Michael divorced in 2010. Farrah has had a difficult relationship with her parents and has claimed to have been physically abusive to her. Farrah began dating Derek Underwood in 2006 and became pregnant. Her pregnancy and birth of their daughter Sophia was followed by “16 and Pregnant”. The couple broke up during the pregnancy.
Derek was killed in a car accident 2 months before Sophia was born. In 2012, Farrah recorded a studio album and published a book titled “My Teenage Dream Ended”. In 2013, Farrah was arrested for DUI. The same year, sex tapes of Farrah with an adult film star were distributed as adult films. It is believed Farrah sold the tapes for $1.5 million. The following year, Farrah appeared on the realty show, “Couples Therapy”. She was the only cast member without a partner on the show.
In 2015, Farrah appeared on the reality show “Celebrity Big Brother”. As a panelist on the after show, she got in a physical altercation with a cast mate. Farrah does not get along well with her Teen Mom OG cast mates.
