Five Things You Didn’t Know about Stephen Lang

Lately Stephen Lang has been on a role when it comes to Hollywood it seems. The actor has been popping up more and more with each year as he’s taken on more roles and appeared in more films than anyone could possibly remember before his Avatar days. The truth is that he’s been around for a while and has had a very successful career up until [easyazon_link identifier=”B003EVWDR0″ locale=”US” tag=”tvovermind00a-20″]Avatar[/easyazon_link] when his fame simply took off. He’s been seen on stage, on TV, and in various other parts now for the last several years since the film came out as his stock has continually risen. As the villain Stephen Lang seems to fill a niche that he’s well-suited for, but as a more neutral character he’s still a little foreboding but somehow personable. Almost like the uncle you don’t visit much but still tend to like because he tells it like it is.

Here’s a few other things you might not have known about him.

5. He will be returning for all 4 Avatar sequels.

Don’t ask right now because it’s not likely that a lot of fans could tell you. James Cameron won’t be spilling the beans either on how Quaritch, the main baddie in Avatar, will be coming back in not one, not two, but four planned sequels. If you watched the movie then you know how he died. Two arrows the size of broom handles got slammed into his chest with enough force to pin him to his robotic suit. How he’s going to come back from that is anyone’s guess.

4. His career began in theater.

Before he stepped in front of the camera Lang already had a successful career on stage. He’s been in a large number of productions and has proven his worth with his many great performances. A great many actors have either started on stage or have eventually gravitated towards it. Lang definitely made his mark before deciding to put himself in front of the camera.

3. He’s narrated a good number of audio books.

Lang has even gone so far as to lend his voice to a wide selection of audio books. This is impressive because many actors will stick to one or two venues and hone their act in a way that allows them to excel in those areas. Lang is stretching out and making everyone know that he has a wide array of talents.

2. In 2010 he received an honorary degree from Swarthmore College.

His parents have made regular donations to the college throughout the years, and as a way of saying thank you Stephen was awarded with an honorary degree for his shared contributions.

1. His son is a film producer and writer.

It seems like show business runs in the family, at least with one of his children. His son Noah is a film producer and a writer and he and Stephen have worked together on at least two projects in the fairly recent past.

Throughout this whole article you might still be wondering how Lang’s character is going to come back for the Avatar sequels. Trust me, I don’t know any more than you do.
