The Five Funniest Movie Scenes Starring Alec Baldwin

As serious and as ruthless as he can be in the movies Alec Baldwin can also be funny. Sometimes it’s a really crude sense of humor that he seems to have but it works for a lot of people and isn’t something that everyone needs to watch. He’s most definitely the kind of guy you look to for ‘grown-up’ humor rather than a lot of kiddie stuff but he has stretched his comedic act that far as well. Alec Baldwin isn’t the kind of guy you normally would go to when you need a great voice for a cutesy cartoon, since he’s just a little too edgy for such things, in a good way thankfully. He’s also just a bit arrogant at times it would seem and this translates into his acting in a way that puts some people off but somehow excites others.

He’s a good actor, let’s leave it at that I suppose.

5. My Best Friend’s Girl

He seems to be very at ease with characters that are in positions of power and authority and are allowed to be male chauvinists. Maybe it’s his real character or maybe it’s just one that he does particularly well but in this movie he’s kind of a jerk and it works for him. Honestly this wouldn’t work for a lot of people in this day and age but still, in the movie it makes him seem not so much like the bad guy but more of a person that knows what he wants and goes and gets it. Take that as you will.

4. Fun With Dick and Jane

As I just said above he likes to be in roles that carry position and authority and kind of allow him to flex his arrogance muscles to the extreme. In this film he plays the corrupt boss of a company that’s going under and basically cutting out those that aren’t upper management, meaning everything those people have is now gone, liquidated so that the top few can hold onto everything. This might have been a little more amusing if such a thing hadn’t happened in the past.

3. The Shadow

Even when he’s playing a hero he’s a bit arrogant, but this tends to let him play a character that’s confident in who he is and what he can do. It might make him kind of a jerk but at the very least it makes him capable of matching his enemy and fighting on a reasonably leveled playing field. Anyone that’s got an ego the size of his should make for a worthy opponent. It’s up to the rest of us to sit back and watch as they ego-bash one another into submission.

2. Boss Baby

Even as a baby character his ego tends to come through. The Boss Baby is a character that’s kind of creepy but also funny since he’s been sent by his company to oversee just why puppies are becoming more popular than babies. This is honestly something I don’t see happening but for the sake of the movie it becomes a rather silly and very funny learning experience for the Boss Baby and his older brother.

1. It’s Complicated

You might stay friends with your ex but once you divorce or separate the idea is that you don’t sleep with them any longer. It especially applies when you’re seeing someone else and trying to build a relationship. I think I’m with Steve Martin on this one, if I was trying to video chat with my lady and her ex’s junk showed up on the screen it might be time to reconsider the relationship.

For as serious as he can get sometimes Alec Baldwin can be hilarious.
