Fifty Shades Darker Unrated Edition Should Have No Appeal to Anyone

Alright, I’ve kept quite about Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades of “gimme a break” for long enough.     When I found this out today I felt it was finally time to say something:  In 50 days, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will unleash Fifty Shades Darker Unrated Edition, plunging fans even deeper into the mesmerizing, hidden world of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, as the year’s hottest romance comes home on Digital HD on April 25, 2017 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand, on May 9, 2017. E L James’ best-selling book trilogy returns with the second chapter of the darkly alluring tale that captivated the world.

OK so let’s talk about that.  Let’s talk about the book.  The books were huge.  There’s zero discounting that.  What EL James did to women around the country is something that can never be reversed.  Millions and millions were sitting alone on their beds or in dark corners captivated by these stories.   They themselves started to wonder what kinds of limits they would put on themselves.   And then the first movie came out.  Reviews were mixed but overall the people that read the books loved it.   And they’ve loved Fifty Shades Darker which promised to be even more risqué than the first.

But here’s the thing.  Can’t we just call this what it is?  I mean is anyone going to admit that we’re just looking to watch pornography here?  Am I missing something?  If you’re releasing an unrated version of this movie you’re obviously going for the angle of “there’s even more!”  Really?  There are millions of adult films out there that go way beyond what these books and movies do.  How is this ANY different?  Because of the descriptive narrative?  Again, that’s what the books are for and EL James obviously did a great job in getting people’s attention with her words.

But visually, you can go to any adult website and pick up a movie that goes well beyond what these movies do.  I feel like this is one big scam.  Am I wrong?  Someone please explain this to me.  This is like everyone being obsessed with what Kim Kardashian is wearing when they can go online and see her nude anytime they want.
