DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 Premiere: Top 5 Moments

The latest season of Legends of Tomorrow has started up with an episode that came out on October 10. The main cast is in an interesting position because Rip Hunter has created the Time Bureau to handle things that are no longer in the right times, meaning that their services are no longer needed. However, superhero media being superhero media, it should come as no surprise to learn that the team makes the choice to prove themselves to be still capable of making a difference.

Here are five of the top moments in the first episode of the new season of Legends of Tomorrow:

The Team’s Normal Lives

For most of the team, their normal lives are not the most fulfilling option for them, as shown by Sara being stuck in a retail position and Ray having to put up with a not so likable boss. There are exceptions to this rule, with a perfect example in the form of Stein, who is expecting a grandchild. The whole sequence is interesting for a couple of reasons. First, it contrasted well with the rest of the shenanigans in the series. Second, it set up what could be a poignant moment in the future when Stein agreed to return to the team in spite of the fact that he was happy where he was.

Caesar Attempting to Recruit Drunken Frat Boys

Most of the premiere was centered around Caesar, who is one of the things that have stepped outside of their normal time. As a result, the team decided to prove their worth by returning him to his normal time, which resulted in a fair amount of resistance from him. Amusingly, Caesar actually attempted to recruit drunken frat boys at one point, which was perhaps not the best idea that he has ever had.

Ares and Mars

The team managed to return Caesar to his time, but fail to prevent Caesar from changing the course of history by bringing a book with him. As a result, the team is forced to head to Roman times, which naturally leads to a fight with Roman soldiers. At one point, Jefferson claims to be acting on behalf of Ares before being promptly corrected by Stein, who points out that the Romans worshiped Mars rather than Ares, who was similar but not quite the same.

Agent Sharpe’s Less than Enthusiastic Response

On the same trip, the team happen to rescue the captured Agent Sharpe, who is working for Rip Hunter’s Time Bureau. There is a short team-up between her and Sara, which work out well enough. However, when Agent Sharpe proceeds to comment on the team’s performance, there is a neat subversion of convention when she states that she actually thinks worse of them after having seen them in action.

Amaya and the Panthers

The people behind Legends of Tomorrow made a curious choice to have Amaya return to her own time, which seems like a rather odd outcome considering what happened in Season 2. On the plus side, we got to see Amaya showing off what she can really do by channeling panthers when confronting poachers, which might not have been a full consolation for her choice but was nonetheless fun to see.
