Let’s just assume that as long as Dave Chappelle is alive that I’ll be posting anything that records him saying anything to anyone. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, it appears that Dave Chappelle can’t escape talking politics and Donald Trump. If you’ve ever heard the phrase “politics is local” then you might appreciate this clip. According to Uproxx
Recently, the comedian showed up to his local Yellow Springs, Ohio town hall meeting to talk about police reform in the wake of a an incident that took place on New Year’s Eve when police tazed two people who attended the city’s celebration. Chappelle happened to attend the festivities that night, which might be part of the reason he decided to make his feelings known before the City Council.
While Chappelle was far from being funny here, knowing his comedic genius you’d be wise to listen to the man when he’s serious. Chappelle voiced commentary on how he feels about the police force in Yellow Springs and even brought up his own experiences with the police in his earlier days. Chappelle was quoted as saying.
“The council has a tremendous opportunity to be like a leader in progressive law enforcement,” he asserted. “I would beseech the council to look deeply and to look hard, because…this is a golden opportunity,” adding, “In this Trump era, this is an opportunity to show everybody that local politics reign supreme.”
