We get to see so many people on our television screens, but we barely stop to ask ourselves if there is more to their lives than acting. We cannot know all there is to a person, especially when they prefer to lead a private life but Beth Behrs is an open book. You must have seen her in “2 Broke Girls” along Kat Dennings but what you do not know is that she was broke when she got to star in the comedy. Matter of fact is the broke experience enabled her to be Caroline, and the only hard part was trying to act like she was once rich. Let’s get right into everything else you probably do not know about the actress.
1. She is the co-founder of SheHerdPower
Beth, along with Cassandra Ogier, founded the non-profit organization that caters to sexual assault survivors by organizing free equine-guided empowerment. The two met when Beth was referred to Cassandra, a child abuse survivor after Beth had panic attacks as she filmed “2 Broke Girls”. Cassandra offers equine-therapy, and Beth was affected after watching how a close friend struggled to get her life back together after being assaulted. Beth and Cassandra became friends and soon decided to start SheHerdPower to help other victims.
2. A skin rash made her start eating healthy
Nothing gets us into panic mode than a skin rash that refuses to go away, and Beth had such a rash for six months. She, therefore, visited the doctor who told her that it was due to her lifestyle. Beth was stressed, did not do any form of exercises, and was eating unhealthy foods. She, therefore, made changes in her life to ensure a healthy body and mind, and it paid off. Beth had become so used to eating the food on the set since she was broke. She, however, took baby steps towards healthy living and even wrote a book about her journey.
3. Her parents taught her the value of saving
Unlike Caroline, the character she plays in “2 Broke Girls” who came from a wealthy family, Beth has humble beginnings. Her mother is a teacher while her father is a private school headmaster. She had an allowance each week, but she had to spend it carefully since once it was gone, her parents did not give her more. In high school, Beth knew that if she chose to spend money on expensive lunch one day, the rest of the week, she would be eating sandwiches. She learned the value of money so much that even when she splurges, Beth buys something practical.
4. She has always wanted to be a performer
“The Sound of Music” was one film that every child and teenager loved for the musical scenes and young, innocent romance it exhibited. Beth is among the many toddlers who fell in love with the movie and at only three years old, she could act out the entire film. She did such a good job that her parents thought about enrolling her in the theater. As told on Medium, Beth does not remember a time when she was neither singing nor performing.
5. She thinks of Carol Burnett as her hero
If ever there is a person that Beth would love to have breakfast with it has to be Carol Burnett. Beth has met with Carol severally, but having a private moment with her would be such a cherished experience since Carol is Beth’s heroine. She loves Carol’s work, and since both are in comedy, she would like to have Carol talk about physical comedy.
6. She might be pregnant
After the wedding comes the babies, although it does not always happen in that order. Beth has been reportedly spotted with a baby bump. Although her rep did not confirm the news, a source close to Beth and Michael said it was true. When she was out having a romantic dinner date, people were quick to notice that she made toasts by drinking water instead of wine. All the same, Beth is yet to announce the good news.
7. She is charitable
Once you have a love for animals, you want the best for them whether they are in your home or not. Beth, therefore, wanted to support Ellen with her wildlife fund by donating some money. Ellen had been gifted the wildlife fund by Portia, her wife. With the $10,000 check, Beth contributed, Ellen was sure to keep her Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund running. According to Daily Mail, Beth declared how much she loves what Ellen is doing for the gorillas and Rwanda and is ready to support her efforts.
8. She is an animal lover
Some people cannot stand animals either due to allergies or just the responsibility that comes with having them. Beth, however, does not mind it all, and her Instagram always has pictures of her animals. As if to twin with the animals, Beth’s pets have names that begin with “Be” like hers. She has a dog named Betty while her horse is Belle, and the bee is Beatrice. While she was on Ellen DeGeneres Show, she was also eager to adopt baby goats from the newborns that one of the goats in her barn was expecting. Although Ellen helped her come up with some unique names, most likely Beth went ahead to keep the twinning theme.
9. Her first lap dance experience
There is a first time for everything, and sometimes we wish to have experiences at specific points; for instance, a lap dance would be perfect in a bachelorette party. Life, however, has its surprises and for Beth, it came in the form of a lap dance. Beth had her first lap dance ever on the set of “Neighborhood” which has us wondering what she did for her bachelorette party. She was so nervous about letting the Magic Mike Live men give her a lap dance that she began talking to them to establish a rapport. Still, Beth boasted that her job entails having such fun.
10. She had a bee-themed wedding
On 21 July 2018, Beth exchanged vows with fellow actor Michael Gladis in Idaho at the Moose Creek Ranch. The couple sought the help of Angel Swanson to plan their event, and it was one of a kind. Beth and Michael welcomed their guests with local huckleberry jam-stuffed gift bags. Since they have a hive at their California home, the couple also gave the guests jars of honey as they left the reception. According to Martha Stewart Weddings, the bee-theme was also in the cake flavor and wedding invitations.
