America’s Got Talent is Back: What We Can Expect The Rest of This Season

America’s Got Talent is back and there are some big changes this season. Nick Cannon is out and Tyra Banks is in as the new host. She hit the ground running with her beauty, charm and charisma. She proved her mettle in the first exciting episode and if this is a sample of what she has to contribute to the show, her run this year should add loads to the already popular television series. The premiere of the show delivered high on amazingly talented participants from a variety of genres. America’s Got Talent is Back: here is what we can expect this season.

Mind blowing magic

Close up magic artist Will Tsai made it into the running for the million with his unbelievable logic defying magic performance. He made items appear, disappear and transform as though it was genuine magic. We’re still scratching our heads trying to figure out how he used a few quarters, a rose and some cards to create an entrancing magical display that was simply too short and left us wanting much more.

Demian Aditya delivered a magical act that is reminiscent of the late great Harry Houdini, with a twist. Aditya was chained inside a glass box with nearly a half ton of sand hanging over his head. With just 2 minutes to free himself and get out of the way, the audience is held in a tense suspense. This is only the second time that he has attemped this death defying act and it left the audience wondering if he actually has the powers of teleportation.

Amazing dancers

JR and Emily Alabi, the brother and sister Salsa dancing duo took the stage and gave us their version of the traditional dance with a futuristic performance. The acrobatic and dizzying energy and moves earned the pair their spot on the program and we’re definitely wanting to see what they’re going to come up with to top their stellar performance for the next time.

Merrick Hanna wowed the audience with his version of “the robot” dance. At just 12 years old, his interpretation and fluidity were show stopping as he told the story through his dance in a style that rivals the talents of anyone in the industry. A true accurate interpretation that drew us all in and held us firmly in place.

Amazing singing with a few pleasant surprises

Yoli Mayor is a 21 year old singer who appeared onstage but was stopped by Simon. He felt she could do better with her appearance, so he and Tyra assisted her by ditching the heels and losing some of the bling. This move allowed all of the focus to be on her amazing rendition of “Make it Rain” by Ed Sheeran. She had the audience in the palm of her hand.

Darci Lynne is 12 years old and who would have expected her ventriloquist act to reveal a mature vocal range. The bunny puppet was a hit with an amazing set of pipes. Darci showed her range without revealing a hint that she was supplying the vocals. Mel B. was so moved that she awarded her with the prestigious Golden Buzzer that assured her way into the finals of the competition.

Puddles the Sad Clown was the third singer who came onstage leaving some question as to how well the act would be received. Hesitantly, the judges watched as he surprised everyone with a belted from the gut rendition of Sia’s Chandelier. He didn’t need the clown suit after all.

After the tremendous displays of talent we saw from the first airing, we’re all getting excited about what is to come on this season of America’s got talent. Howie Mandel, Mel B., Heidi Klum and Simon Howell are back to lead us into the new year. If the first show is an indication of what we can expect, it’s going to be a very good year.
