The Salahis’ seem to eat, love, and pray for trouble…
In last Thursday’s episode of The Real Housewives of D.C. during Paul Wharton’s birthday party, The Salahis’ arrived at the gala with a police escort. Fellow D.C. Housewife Lynda Erkiletian, thought it was a bit much and I, as well as other viewers, thought the same thing. Well, it turns out that the Salahis’ might have been the victims of the dreaded reality show editing room.
CNN.com reports that the clip of the police cruiser arriving at Paul Wharton’s party was ‘incorrectly edited’ into the final cut, giving the illusion that the Salahis’ were escorted by the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department. The scene was brought to the attention of the MPD when a reporter saw the episode. A full investigation was launched into whether or not the Salahis’ actually used an MPD escort, a service which is mostly reserved for more important people than reality stars. You know, someone like the President of the United States.
In an email sent to CNN, Half Yard Productions (the production company behind the show) explained that the Salahis’ were escorted by police, but it was actually a Park at Fourteenth Police escort, not an MPD one. “The MPD [Metropolitan Police Department] car featured in the episode was not the escort car and was edited into the shot incorrectly,” the statement declared.
So that’s supposed to make everything better?
The Salahis’ are trouble magnets it seems and this incident is just the latest in their Tour of Unfortunate Events. During a stop at The View, for the promotional tour for the premiere of The Real Housewives of D.C. two weeks ago, Michale and View host Whoopi Goldberg got into it after Michaele accused Whoopi of hitting her. The seasoned comedienne cleared the air the next day on the daytime show, displaying on camera what really happened. Let’s just say that the Salahis’ might not get a second invite to The View anytime soon. At this rate, the Salahis’ might want to have their lawyer traveling in their entourage, because this train is only going to get more insane as each week passes.
So what do you guys think? Will Bravo have a potential publicity mess with the Salahis’? Or will it only help boost the show’s ratings?
