Josette Simon has the kind of acting talent that doesn’t come around very often. From the stage to the screen, she is truly a star. Josette has been acting professionally for more than 40 years, and she has accomplished a lot during that time. One of her most recent on-screen roles was the 2022 TV mini-series Anatomy of a Scandal, in which she played Angela Regan. Some of her other TV credits include The Witcher and Broadchurch. No matter what you have seen Josette in, there’s a good chance that she put on an impressive performance. If you’re not familiar with Josette, now is the perfect time to put her on your radar. 1. She Has Caribbean Ancestry

Josette was born and raised in England, but her family originally comes from the Caribbean. Her mother is from Anguilla, and her father is from Antigua. Josette is very proud of all of the cultures that have come together to help her become the woman (and actress) she is today.

2. If She Weren’t Acting, She’d Be In Politics

If you’ve seen Josette act, it’s probably hard to imagine her doing anything else. However, Josette has thought about what she would be doing had she chosen a different career path.  In an interview with The Guardian, Josette shared that if she wasn’t acting, she would want to be prime minister.

3. She Isn’t Into Social Media

Most people enjoy keeping up with their favorite celebrities on social media, but that won’t be possible for Josette Simon’s fans. From what we can tell, Josette doesn’t have verified accounts on any social media profiles. This isn’t too surprising because she has always been pretty private when it comes to her personal life.

4. Josette Simon Got Into Acting As a Teenager

Countless actors have adorable stories about how they fell in love with acting when they were still in diapers. However, Josette Simon’s story is a little bit different. She didn’t get involved in acting until she was about 14 years old after auditioning for a play.

5. She’s Been in Video Games

Josette is most famous for her on-screen and theater roles, but many don’t realize that she is also a talented voice actress. Her skills have even allowed her to step into the video game world. She has voiced characters in two video games: Dragon Age: Inquisition (her most recent voice role) and Fable III.

6. She’s a Formally Trained Actress

Once Josette became interested in acting, it didn’t take long for her to start taking it seriously. She studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and gained lots of theater experience. The school has a long list of noteworthy alumni, including Patrick Baladi, Nia DaCosta, and Susan Lynch.

7. She’s a Mother

As mentioned earlier, Josette has always been pretty quiet when it comes to her personal life. Because of that, lots of people probably don’t realize that she is a mother. She has one child with her ex-husband, Mark Padmore. The two were married from 1996 to 2004. We weren’t able to find any information about Josette’s child.

8. She’s An Award Winner

No matter how talented an actor is, their legacies are often measured by the number of awards they’ve won. That being said, Josette Simon’s legacy has already been cemented. She has taken home several awards, including an Evening Standard Theatre Award, a Paris Film Festival Award, and a Critics’ Circle Theatre Award. All of her awards have been for Best Actress. There’s a good chance that Josette will win more awards in the future.

9. Josette Simon Is Passionate About Helping Others

Keeping people entertained isn’t the only thing that Josette has used her platform for. She has always been involved in helping others and is especially passionate about working with the deaf community. Josette has worked with several organizations, including the Kaos Signing Choir for Deaf and Hearing Children and the Deaf Ethnic Women’s Association.

10. She Has Nearly 100 Acting Credits

If you look at Josette’s acting resume, you’ll probably be blown away by the amount of work she’s done. According to her page on IMDB, she has 76 screen credits (this includes voice work and a few projects that have not yet been released). She also has almost two dozen theater credits. If she continues at the pace she’s been moving at, her list of credits will grow exponentially in the coming years.
