It’s hard to figure out whether or not the brass in charge of marketing for Wonder Woman were just messing with us or what. Here’s how I think it all went down in a meeting one day. “Let’s let this thing linger for as long as we possibly can. We don’t release any trailers or images for the film until the internet starts whining. When we reach a point where there’s just too much chatter about how much we’re dropping the ball, we’ll release the flood gates.” If it’s anything like what I just wrote then the Wonder Woman marketing plan is going exactly as planned.
Coming off of two more interesting trailers over the weekend and some interesting behind the scenes shots yesterday, today we’ve been treated to a new Cinema Teaser magazine cover, which gives us an awesome new look at Gal Gadot as the iconic warrior princess.
It also appears that the marketing department has listened to my request to focus solely on Gadot. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Her looks alone should be enough to get people in the seats. The remaining hurdle will be the movie’s quality. A pretty face is a great draw but the movie has to deliver.
Stick around for the next few days as I’m sure plenty more Wonder Woman tidbits will be released.
In ONE MONTH, the world will know wonder. @GalGadot is #WonderWoman, in theaters June 2nd. pic.twitter.com/81qVguEpyl
