Roger is the alien that lives in the attic of the Smith household where he’s kept as kind of the worst secret in the world since he continually makes his way down and into society. He’s not supposed to be as visible as he usually is but his many disguises tend to keep him on the down low more often than not. His flamboyant manner however tends to keep him from really being able to contain himself as hidden away as possible since he wants to get out and mingle in order to experience the human world.
In some cases he’s useful but in others he’s kind of an obnoxious nuisance.
10. Roger saved Stan’s life.
When Roger was attempting to escape Roswell Stan went after him. When the search party threw a grenade into the room they were in Roger managed to pull Stan to safety. This led Stan to grant Roger mercy and take him home.
9. He was a birthday present to Steve.
Steve was absolutely thrilled to have his own alien but the rest of the family was horrified by him to start with. Throughout a very short period of time however they grew used to him and Roger soon became one of the family.
8. His planet is never mentioned.
He makes references to what it might have on it and how cold it is in comparison to earth but otherwise there aren’t a whole lot of references to his planet, and in fact the name of it is never really spoken.
7. His planet has figure-skating.
It might sound odd to think that an alien world would have the same kind of interests as earth but then again if it’s as cold as Roger is stating then it’s likely that the residents have found a way to entertain themselves.
6. He came to earth to obtain a sample of hepatitis.
It’s a lot different than probing to be certain but it still begs the question of why anyone would come to discover a disease that many people could do without.
5. He was distracted by the I Love the 80’s marathon when it was time to call home.
Roger is obviously very easy to distract since he seems to love pop culture and can be swayed from whatever he’s doing without much effort.
4. He believes he’s on earth to decide whether it’s worth saving or not.
If that’s the case then the earth would be in a lot of trouble if Roger could ever really make the effort to do what he’d been sent here to do. Of course he talks a lot so some of it might be his own inflated sense of self talking.
3. He claims to have eaten his own father.
He keeps his leg around as a memento. How sick is that?
2. He creates pretend jobs all the time.
Roger has worn a great many disguises but does frequently appear as a bartender in the Smith’s home in the attic, which is titled Roger’s Place.
1. He claims to be pansexual.
As disturbing as he already is there’s always more about Roger to be learned, and some things people would probably be better off not knowing.
He’s one of the quirkiest characters on TV.
