As we enter holiday season, no doubt people will be thinking about decorating, hot chocolate, and holiday movies on TV. By the time December rolls around you can find holiday movies, cartoons, and TV shows on local and cable TV channels. And, thanks to online apps and websites you can watch your favorite holiday films online.
With that in mind, if you’re looking for the best places online to watch holiday films, we’ve got you covered. From Hallmark’s holiday marathon to Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas here are the best ways to watch Christmas/holiday films online.
- Sling TV: If you don’t have cable, Sling TV is the best way to watch a variety of the channels offering Christmas movies. With Sling TV you can get access to Hallmark, Freeform, TBS, TNT, AMC, and many other channels that will be airing Christmas films this year. You pay anywhere from $20-50+ a month and can watch online or on your TV through a variety of streaming devices.
- PlayStation Vue: Like Sling TV, you have access to Freeform, TBS, TNT, Lifetime, and plenty of other holiday friendly channels. Vue even gives you access to local channels, depending on your location. The downside here is that you can really only enjoy Vue in your home, as mobile restrictions make watching on-the-go nearly impossible.
- Amazon Prime: Amazon has two options for Christmas movies. You can watch what’s available through Amazon Prime or you can purchase the films you want on Amazon Instant Video. Prime now includes subscriptions that you can add to Prime. You can add things like Starz, Showtime, Hallmark, and other options. There are plenty of add-ons that will show holiday films, so you’ve got plenty of options with Amazon.
- Netflix: As December rolls around Netflix will have plenty of holiday films to watch. Right now they have holiday favorites including Love Actually, White Christmas, and Christmas with the Kranks, as well as several others. At this point most people have Netflix, so it’s just a matter of signing on and seeing what’s available!
- Hulu: While Hulu doesn’t currently have a lot in terms of holiday movies, they have a crazy selection of holiday (Thanksgiving and Christmas) TV episodes. So, if you’re a huge TV fan, you won’t be able to beat the availability that Hulu is offering.
- Use your Cable Login: There are several channels that will let you watch online or with apps if you have a cable subscription. Many of these have both live streaming and on-demand options so you can watch what is airing or what’s already aired. Popular channels that will be airing holiday films and have online options include Freeform, Hallmark, TCM, and TBS.
A study recently released suggests that people that use Netflix together are able to build better relationships. So, when you’re curling up on the couch to watch Mixed Nuts or Miracle on 34th Street, make sure to do it with a loved one to fully enjoy the joyful season.
Oh, and since there are so many ways to watch Christmas movies online, there’s no reason you can’t stream to find the best holiday movies. Happy Holidays!
