The Best Uses of Night Ranger Songs in Movies or TV

Sometimes it’s hard to believe that some of these bands that were so popular back in the 70s and 80s are still around, but Night Ranger, despite not being known by a whole lot of people that were born in this century or slightly earlier, are still out there doing their thing. They’ve had a change to their lineup a few times but their sound is still basically the same but with updates that have kept them on top of the scene as much as possible. Back in the day they were one of the most famous bands of their time and were loved by a great number of people that were into their sound and look. Nowadays there’s so many bands out there that just picking one to follow is kind of difficult, but enjoying a little bit of all of them isn’t so hard. In the case of Night Ranger a few of their songs are still heard fairly often.

Here are at least a couple of songs that are heard in TV and movies.

5. Friday the 13th – Sister Christian

Sister Christian shows up in a lot of places since it’s a dang good song and very easy to recognize. In this case however one might think that wearing headphones in the dark while you’re in the woods, a place you don’t know even, would be a bad idea. It wouldn’t really matter if you could hear Jason creeping up on you anyway, you’d be just as dead. But it’d be nice to have a heads up at least. A lot of folks didn’t care for this movie for some reason but if you’re comparing it to the original then it makes sense. If you’re just watching it as another installment however it’s kind of refreshing since it goes back to the formula that worked more or less.

4. Glee – Sister Christian

There’s something about listening to people sing certain songs that kind of gets the attention, but then again it could have been that it was a guy singing it and she was simply intrigued to learn that there was someone else there. It’s hard to know since unless you watch the show you really don’t know what’s going on. Glee is definitely one of those shows that people might have glanced at but never watched or are completely infatuated with and have seen every episode. Honestly I’ve never watched it but it’s obvious that it was a sensation while it lasted. This scene in particular is one that seems to pop up in different ways in a lot of shows.

3. Family Guy – Sister Christian

Family Guy is famous for spoofing a lot of different scenes from a lot of different movies, and Boogie Nights is no exception. The hilarity of the scene is that Bryan has no real desire to go in and Stewie seems to not be concerned at all. If there was a running tally of the messes these two had gotten in together or were privy to throughout the history of the show it would probably show that they were often running into trouble more often because of Stewie, though Bryan isn’t innocent to be honest. In the history relationships between boys and their dogs this has to be one of the most messed up in all television.

2. Sixteen Candles – Rumours In the Air

Sixteen Candles, the movie in which this song is played, is one of the classics that was a staple of almost everyone’s viewing experience back in the day. You could call it a coming of age story, or you could just call it a teen movie that continued to set Molly Ringwald up as one of the greatest teen queens to ever exist. In any case it was hilarious since Samantha, played by Molly, is just turning 16 and thanks to her older sister’s wedding gets ignored on her birthday. To make matters worse the boy she’s in love with, a senior, wants to get to know her but is kind of held back by his vindictive girlfriend and the fact that a lot of people think Sam’s not worth his time.

1. Boogie Nights – Sister Christian

The life of Dirk Diggler was one of great importance in this movie until things started to change and he became less of a big deal, meaning he was out of work and needed something to keep things going. Of course, doing a drug deal with a couple of unsavory and out of control characters probably wasn’t the best idea since it didn’t lead to anywhere good. This movie was something that a lot of people hope was never true but very well could have been since as we know the world is a crazy place and the appetites of so many lead in a great many directions.

Night Ranger is still doing their thing and still rocking it.
