Some people enjoyed the SciFi story known as See; others thought it was ridiculous, and some were kind of wavering back and forth by the time season 1 ended. Those who stuck around for season 2 saw the story develop in a maddening way since the protagonist, Baba Voss, headed back into the forest to the mountains while his wife, Maria, and their children stayed behind. Queen Kane, one of the most irritating members of the cast by far, is still spouting her entitled nonsense while the war has escalated and the Trivantians, the enemy against whom Baba and his people fought, now have a new weapon that will help them to decimate their enemies even quicker. The general feel of the third season, so far, is that the Trivantians are not in a forgiving mood after Baba killed his brother and their general, Edo Voss. There was only one way that such a fight could end after the past two seasons, and if anyone was paying attention, it was kind of obvious that Baba was due for a bit of revenge, even if it had to come at the expense of his brother.
One thing that this story is not short on is brutal justice for just about anything.
This is the same old world, but with a new set of rules that were set in the first and second seasons. The fact that the majority of the world can’t see is an odd way to tell a story, but it opens up many new venues for how people interact. From what’s already been seen, the blind rule this world since the sighted are so few in number. Strangely enough, the sighted are far more equipped to deal with this world than those who have been raised in the darkness, but they are seen as evil and even deemed witches by those who don’t fully understand them.
The third season is already continuing the brutality.
Given the medieval appearance and practices already established in the first two seasons, it wasn’t tough to think of how the third season would start. To be fair, the Trivantians weren’t about to let go of the fact that Baba Voss and his children had caused a great deal of havoc to their city or nearly decimated a good chunk of their forces. The ambush that Voss and his allies managed to execute was masterfully done, but it didn’t quell the battle lust of the Trivantians, as the war-like group is always up for a good fight and always ready to up the stakes in a big way. Given their new weapon and the unforgiving manner they’re bringing to the battlefield, it’s easy to state that the danger they pose will be even greater now that they’ve come up with a manner to deal massive amounts of damage in a short period of time. That’s the wonder of high explosives for you. As has happened several times in history, the application of just enough explosive power, or far more than is needed, will likely be the deciding factor determining who’s standing at the end.
Unfortunately, it’s not surprising that this show will end after season 3.
There was an idea that the show might have ended after season 2, given that Baba made his way off to the forest again, leaving his family to their fates. Some folks might have rightly guessed that it wouldn’t be the end, that there would still be a reckoning, but this will be the final season. It does feel as though it might be best since this story feels as though it could start to drag on and on without any real end in sight if it were allowed to do so. There is a way that this could happen that might keep the interest, but it might be better to simply bring it to an end to settle things between the Payan and Trivantian clans in a way that might create another route to follow. With the idea that more sighted people will start showing up, it’s fair to think that at one point, the world would go back to the sorry mess it was before this turn of events that left the world in darkness.
The hope is that the ending of this show will be as epic as its beginning.
Again, some folks would argue over how epic this show is, but the first battle of the first season was something to watch. It’s a big hope that the end fight and resolution would be just as fun to watch. If nothing else, watching Jason Momoa in a battle scene is usually impressive.
Who knows, maybe See will be picked up by another streaming channel.
