Scorpion: Quintis Wedding in the Works. Sylvester Channels Inner Statesman.

Scorpion

Planning a wedding can be expensive. Good thing Toby and Happy are part of a team that can earn substantial sums of money. On this week’s episode of Scorpion, the team heads to a Hechnian military base. The mission? To retrieve a capsule that contains an asteroid/meteor.

The part where the remote helicopter being unable to restart the engine scared me a little. Granted, I have seen situations far worse than this, but it still makes me nervous. Imagine my shock when all it took to get the helicopter flying again was Happy putting in fresh batteries in the remote. If that’s not a facepalm-worthy moment, I don’t know what is.

Another facepalm-worthy moment is the fact that Walter booked a series of lectures for Toby and Happy so that they can have a perfect marriage. I get that he’s trying to help, but Paige was right, the lectures are a bad idea. Weddings are supposed to be romantic, happy and magical. It’s not a numbers and statistics kind of thing. At least Walter managed to make things right by choosing the perfect wedding song and booking dance lessons for Toby and Happy. I so loved the tender Waige scene towards the end as Walter and Paige danced together. Gives me hope that Waige will stay on track.

Back to the case, it was refreshing to see a foreign country’s president work together with Team Scorpion. Normally, foreign leaders would be against the team instead of helping them. He used the press conference to hide the noise of the makeshift blowtorch sterilizing the space rock. That and distracting the two lab technicians when he did. I thought that Walter and Happy would be goners once the door to the wind tunnel room opened. The part where President Korsovich’s attache pretended to kill Team Scorpion came as a bit of a shock as well. I half expected him to shoot them to death. The only villain here is the General, but people in power tend to be jerks anyway. No offense to those who aren’t!

In the end, Sylvester was able to convince the General to let the team go in exchange for letting the Hechnican scientists use Scorpion’s technology. The human calculator also saved the president and his allies from being executed. He even told Agent Gallo to get back together with Allie if the latter wants him to take office. Another relationship back on track! Yay for Sylvester! It’s great to see how much he has grown as a character. Keep it up, Sly! Oh, and you need a lesson on how to be a better liar. Maybe Toby can give you some pointers?

Speaking of Toby and Happy, the two ended up getting busted by Paige when the liaison found out that the bride and groom were taking advantage of the freebies at the various venues in which to hold their wedding. A part of me wondered why Paige hadn’t put two and two together when Toby and Happy entered the garage feigning fatigue? Is she losing her touch?
