Not that you were even supposed to know this but yesterday was “School Nurse Day.” It’s just one of the thousands of holidays that we Americans have made up because it’s impossible for us to go one day without it having to be some kind of “day.” But I have to admit when Kelli Petersen decided to send a message to her fellow school nurses, she certainly did it in style.
To celebrate “School Nurse Day,” Kelli Petersen, who works at an elementary school, penned a beautiful rendition of Adele’s “Hello,” only this time it’s all about the life and times of a school nurse. “Happy School Nurse day to all my fellow school nurses! May you know how truly valued you are! And to nurses everywhere, you’re amazing!,” Petersen wrote on YouTube.
Petersen recounts all those times of putting bandaids on, fixing sick stomachs, and venturing into vile and disgusting bathrooms. It’s a call to every school nurse out there who goes through the rigors of the job each and every single day. I have to say, “Nicely done Kelli.”
