Now Stranger Things Is Paying Homage to 1981’s “The Evil Dead”

It’s getting closer, can you feel it? The second season of Stranger Things is getting oh so close that fans are just about jumping out of their seat every time they read an article or think about what might be in store for Hawkins. What we know so far is that the Upside Down isn’t done with Hawkins, Will is going to full on wig out, and Eleven is coming back to town. In short it’s going to be an epic season and there’s no telling what’s going to happen or who’s going to get it this time. And just to make it a little more special the show has thus far been showcasing old movie posters as an homage to the horror films of the past. First it was Alien, and now it’s the Evil Dead. That right there is respect on a level that can’t be bought.

One thing we know for certain is that the initial bad guys that were in charge of the Hawkins Laboratory are gone, or at least their headman is gone. He was taken out by Demogorgon near the end of the final episode in the first season. So then who is going to take his place? Are there going to be any more experiments at the lab like that which brought the Upside Down to our world?

From this picture you get the idea that the Upside Down isn’t waiting to find out. Like the demonic things from the Evil Dead they’re going to be taking matters into their own claws as they seek a way into the world of humankind, a world that’s always ripe for the picking.

One thing about the poster however, it seems to taunt the return of a character we thought was gone. Is Demogorgon alive, or are there simply more creatures like it? The creature was taking people from our world to do something, and it wasn’t feasting on them. Instead it would secure them in what it might have assumed was a safe place and then inject them with something. Will found this out the hard way as he vomited up a greenish slug-like thing that quickly made its way down the drain not long after he returned home. It was around that time that the Upside Down appeared to him again, startling the boy and rightfully so. You don’t escape hell expecting to get another glimpse later on.

Now Stranger Things Is Paying Homage to 1981’s “The Evil Dead”

This picture is pretty cool to be honest since it is actually kind of descriptive in a way that really explains the relationship between the Upside Down and Hawkins. One is forever connected to the other, like an interior lining that’s the same but still different. Occasionally if something disrupts the barrier something can get through, but it’s not necessarily something that should happen.

The countdown is on and fans are eagerly waiting for season 2 of Stranger Things to arrive. The binge-watching is going to be on in full no doubt and the comments will begin to fly the moment that people start watching. Count on it.
