2024 is a fantastic year for movies and TV shows, with many major projects preparing for June releases. After the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, several shows are finally back on track to hit the small screen. House of the Dragon Season 2
One of the most anticipated shows in 2024 is House of the Dragon Season 2. After a tragic end in the Season 1 finale that saw Emma Darcy’s Princess Rhaenyra lose her son on what should have been a simple task, the second season will be filled with more blood, dragons, and war for the throne. Despite knowing where this family will end up after watching The Game of Thrones’ eight seasons, the cast and storytelling of another one of George R.R. Martin’s books make for some fantastic television. HBO’s House of the Dragon will only consist of eight episodes, but Martin revealed that there will be more dragons, and fans should be ready for another season of siblings fighting for the Iron Throne.
The Boys Season 4
Homelander and Butcher’s feud will likely end in The Boys Season 4. After the events of Gen V, the upcoming season of The Boys sees Homelander on trial for killing an innocent and attempting to become president of the United States of America alongside Victoria Neuman to bring about a super America. With Butcher having trust issues within his team, he will have difficulty defeating The Seven without their backing. There’s a supe virus, new heroes in The Seven and a potential civil war, so The Boys Season 4 will definitely answer several fan questions. The Boys Season 4 premiers on June 13, 2024.
The Bear Season 3
FX’s The Bear is a verified success, with stars Ayo Edeberi and Jeremy Allen White sweeping awards at the Primetime Emmys 2024. The Bear Season 3 was quickly announced after The Bear Season 2 Episode 1 had one of the highest debut ratings for the streaming platform Hulu. With the great reviews and fans eager to see whether The Bear restaurant will stay afloat after all the troubles it’s gone through, The Bear has already been renewed for a fourth season, which will be filmed back to back after Season 3. The Bear Season 3 is another TV show that will debut in June 2024.
The Acolyte Season 1
The Star Wars franchise has been churning out several successful projects on Disney+, such as Andor, The Mandalorian, and Ashoka. Hopefully, the upcoming The Acolyte Season 1 will not disappoint. The mystery thriller series is part of the Star Wars universe and takes place during the final days of the High Republic Era and will explore the dark side of the Force. It will follow a former Padawan, played by Amanda Stenberg, as she reunites with her Jedi Master (Lee Jung-Jae) to try and solve serval crimes during that time. This will be the first time The High Republic will be depicted in live action because before, it was only mentioned in past tense and featured most notably in the Star Wars novels. The Acolyte will premiere on the streaming platform in early June.
Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2
Lady Whistledown will return fans to the world of carriages, epic balls, and scandal in Bridgerton Season 3. The third season of this Shonda Rhimes Netflix period drama series will focus on Penelope Featherington ( Nicola Coughlan) as her romance with Colin Bridgerton ( Luke Newton) finds its legs. Colin and Penelope have been friends for a long time, and now it’s time to see whether their relationship will move on to the next step or if it’s just a young crush that Penelope has to get over once and for all. Fans should also expect to see Bridgertons Season 2 couple, Lord Anthony Bridgerton ( Jonathan Bailey) and Kate ( Simone Ashley), as they enjoy their married life. The first part of Bridgerton Season 3 will be released on Netflix on May 16, with the final episodes hitting the streaming platform on June 13.
