Without a doubt, the original NCIS is one of the best shows in the history of television; it’s currently the best one that’s still around and it will stay that way until it’s finished. It has also spawned two spinoffs that are equally great in their own rights: NCIS Los Angeles and NCIS New Orleans. New Orleans was an interesting take because of the difference in culture in the area and because of the characters that were involved in it. We’ve grown to love all of them that if the show were to end today, we’d be following the actors wherever they end up next. That said, we believe that the cast members on this list will have the best careers post NCIS New Orleans.
Black was a familiar face coming into the series, since he’s been in supporting roles in a few mainstream films before including The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Friday Night Lights, and 42 among others. His acting credits are short, but his roles are all well chosen and just appropriate for his career. After NCIS, we believe that Black’s film career will keep maintaining itself, but his TV career should take off. The acting skills he’s shown in NCIS are undeniable.
Scott Bakula
Bakula is excellent in his role as Dwayne Pride, but we can totally picture him doing a different kind of character in another procedural. He can be a professional such as a lawyer, or he can even go medical and become a prolific surgeon. Whatever it may be, NCIS has proven that Bakula’s acting chops can handle it. It also helps that the actor has a look that can really pull off any character.
Shalita Grant
When it comes to acting, Grant is literally a newbie. Having only started acting in 2010, Grant does not have a lot under her belt. But what she’s shown us in NCIS has proven that she can act like the best of them. That’s no surprise considering that Grant is a Juilliard graduate. This bright young star still has quite a bit ahead of her, and if she doesn’t last awhile as NCIS’ Sonja Percy, we know that she’ll find something else quickly right after.
Daryl Mitchell
You can call Mitchell as somewhat of a veteran. This actor has been around for a while now, and he’s easily got one of the most recognizable faces in the show. Mitchell has been in anything and everything, playing small roles here and there. But the culmination of his career being at NCIS isn’t going to be his biggest role. We see now that Mitchell can carry on something more serious than what he’s done in the past, and we believe that it’s going to open so many other venues for Mitchell to show off more of his acting skills in the future.
CCH Pounder
She’s already got a career that’s the envy of many, but CCH Pounder is not done. She’s already got Avatar installments lined up in the future, but we’re sure that she’ll have plenty more opportunities after those and after NCIS New Orleans. We believe she’ll continue on her career because she’s one of those actresses that can play any character on screen. She’s unique and extremely talented, and we know she’s not stopping any time soon.
