This is How Much Bam Margera Couldn’t Stand Wearing Nike Shoes

It’s probably a lesser-known fact that Bam Margera from Jackass fame couldn’t skateboard properly in the shoes that Nike gave him when he was being sponsored by the company. He hated the shoes so much that he would use other shoes and cut the swoosh symbol out to paste it on his other shoes. Only by doing this was he able to skateboard properly, though it seems like there might have been a legality issue to it. But on the other end of it Bam would have needed the right kind of shoes to hit the tricks they wanted him to showcase. Unbeknownst to those that don’t get into skateboarding it does matter what you’re wearing on your feet if you really want to perform. Any shoes that are too stiff and not broken in at all are going to mess with someone’s game when they’re on the board.

Bam has had a very prominent career in and around his Jackass role throughout his life as he’s gone into many different business ventures throughout the years. Depending on how close a person is to him he might be seen as a jerk or as a nice guy or somewhere in between since his typical attitude is the kind of devil-may-care style that you can see on the Jackass movies. He’s not always depicted as the nicest guy but he’s also not like a lot of other guys in that he sets his own style and does things the way he wants, which is not always as agreeable to everyone as they might like. That’s tough really if people are expecting him to change, since Bam seems quite comfortable with himself and is likely going to remain the same person for some time to come. His time spent skateboarding has been a big part of his life and has been seen in just about every aspect of who he is from the independent films he’s been in to his Jackass days.

Looking at him a lot of people might say that Bam is kind of a bum and doesn’t have a lot going for him but in truth he’s got quite a bit. He has two homes that he frequents, he’s been in charge of his own business for a while, and he’s not hurting for money really. For a while after Jackass it seems like kind of fell off the map, but like a few of the guys from the show he’s had issues now and again with substance abuse that he had to work out. Whether or not he got that problem solved is hard to know but since he’s still around and doing his thing it’s easy enough to assume that he’s still capable of doing what he wants. He might seem like kind of a rough character but Bam is anything but stupid since he’s been around the block a couple of times so to speak and knows how to get by with what he’s got.

After all, he knows enough to survive and to thrive, and that’s more than a lot of people can say.
