Liam Neeson’s Story About his First Reaction to Seeing Helen Mirren is Worth Watching

I think it’s safe to say that Liam Neeson’s first reaction to ever seeing Helen Mirren is worth remembering as well as watching. It seems to be the same reaction that a lot of people have when meeting someone that they can’t take their eyes off initially, a reaction that says that they are immediately attracted and thunderstruck all at once. I won’t repeat what he said on the Graham Norton show but I can certainly understand it, and I can say that a lot of us have felt the same way when we see the object of our affection, whether we know it or not, making their way towards or, or anywhere in our vicinity.

That level of attraction however is not always something that a person can rely on. People might go years upon years waiting for that perfect moment when the person they believe is just that drop dead gorgeous or possibly is ‘the one’ will approach them. A person could go an entire lifetime and never feel that way unfortunately. It’s the expectation that a lot of people get hung up on, the idea that somewhere, someone that they won’t be able to take their eyes off is just waiting to walk into the picture and either sweep them off their feet or grant them that moment of clarity that they’ve been looking forward to for so long.

If you look at younger pictures of Helen Mirren and Liam Neeson they were both very attractive people in their youth. Even today they’ve aged quite well it seems since Mirren is a very elegant-looking lady and Neeson still turns heads wherever he goes. To learn that they lived together and never got any more serious than this isn’t too surprising, but it’s also not surprising that Neeson was taken aback when he first saw her. Helen Mirren as a much younger woman was an absolute stunner. Looking at her younger pictures it’s very easy to see how any man might see her appealing, and not just in a sexual manner either. She had a look that was all elegance, much as she does now, but with the seeming innocence that a more youthful expression can bring whether that innocence is true or not.

Neeson on the other hand wasn’t as grizzled back then and was far more fresh-faced than now, meaning he was something of a heartthrob to women that watched him onscreen. I can recall many an interview he did while shooting the film Rob Roy that had more than one comment about what was under that kilt and whether he and his costar Jessica Lange had ever discussed it. Neeson usually took these type of questions and made a joke of them, which indicates he has a healthy sense of humor but no need to get vulgar. Mirren and Neeson are both classy people it seems like, at least on camera where people can see them, and even in public. To hear that they were smitten with each other at one point is kind of amusing.
