JaVale McGee Should Thank Shaquille O’Neal for the Attention

Remember when JaVale McGee was the focal point of “Shaqtin a Fool” on Inside the NBA?  In what’s considered to be fans favorite segment on the popular NBA halftime show on TNT, JaVale McGee was Shaq’s number one target.  For those who don’t know “Shaqtin a Fool” is a segment that Shaquille O’Neal runs where he essentially annihilates NBA players for their mistakes.   McGee, center on the Golden State warriors, was Shaq’s most recent “guest.”

Shaq would pick on McGee more than anyone else on his show.  In fact it escalated so much so that McGee had a war of words on Twitter and Shaq’s own mom had to tell her son to stop making fun of McGee.   But here’s the thing.  No one’s talking about just how good McGee’s been playing since all of this.  It’s mainly because the Warriors have so much talent and stars on their team.  But in the conference finals last night, who was the leading scorer for the Warriors after the first half?  JaVale McGee.

Players need to be less sensitive to criticism.  Being on “Shaqtin’ a Fool” should be a wake up call to players.   If Shaq’s gonna call you out and make fun of you, not only should you improve but take it as a sing he probably thinks you’re a good player that can be even better.   Players are way too sensitive.  You’re welcome JaVale.
