Just to be clear, James Gunn is the director of Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, NOT Thor: Ragnarok, so it’s a pretty big compliment to a film when you admit you think it has the best trailer of any Marvel movie ever. But that’s exactly what Gunn revealed on his Twitter account last night. While none of us have seen a lick of coverage for Thor: Ragnarok, Gunn and his Hollywood guys have quite a bit more access than we do and this is what he tweeted after seeing the trailer.

That’s an awfully gutsy call there James. However, the comic book trailer world is nearly as competitive as the movies themselves. The amount of build up a trailer receives it practically the amount of build up you’ll get for the feature films. My only problem with this is that it sets expectations incredibly high for a film. Also, keep in mind that Thor: Ragnarok isn’t even coming out until Nov 3 and we’re already got a Marvel director touting the trailer before anyone’s even seen it.
I mean this is truly getting out of hand. That said, I really want to get my hands on this trailer pronto.
