Perception seems to be everything when you talk about Holland Roden since on the outside she is quite attractive and seems to be a person that tells it like it is, but on the inside there seems to be more going on than her appearance would suggest. Maybe that’s a matter of perspective since a lot of us can’t possibly know what’s happening just by looking at a person or listening to their words. But with what she’s given during interviews and through quotes and other means it would seem that Holland is a little more complex than some might like to think. One thing she is however is a person that has fashioned her career in the way that her roles demand without too much questioning and with whatever input she feels needs to be given. That she’s strong of will is for certain, but whether she’s strong of character is something a person has to judge from their own point of view.
Here are a few things you might not have known about her.
10. She’s a big fan of Michael J. Fox.
Her favorite movie is Back to the Future so you can guess from that that she happens to like the lead character quite a bit. Honestly it’s hard not to like Michael J. Fox since he was such an iconic actor throughout his time.
9. She’s a brutally honest person.
As much as this can be a boon it can also work against someone as not everyone wants to hear the honest, brutal truth all the time and could be highly offended that someone wouldn’t use any type of filter when talking to others. There is such a thing as tact and it does pay to use it sometimes.
8. She has a very big following on social media.
Holland happens to love social media since it’s so easy to connect with people these days and opinions can be shared throughout the world at such a rapid pace. Some people love it, others are indifferent, and some absolutely do not like social media. It’s all a matter of perspective.
7. Her career started in 2004.
Her career has been building for over a decade now and it seems as though she’s in the position where she wants to be so that she can remain on the even keel that she’s created and therefore do something great eventually.
6. She attended an all-girls private school.
It’s hard to say whether this would help or hinder a person but for many it seems to work since gaining an education is considered the important part and if that’s accomplished then a lot of the rest doesn’t matter.
5. She was pre-med before taking up acting full-time.
Holland was actually in line to become a surgeon at one point after attending UCLA but decided that acting full-time would be the better course. It stands to reason that if she really wanted she might be able to go back if she needed it. One could hope at least.
4. She was in Lost.
There were so many twists and turns in this show that keeping up with it was at times kind of difficult even for those that had been watching it the whole time. To think that anyone knew what was going on at all times is kind of hard to imagine.
3. She was in Channel Zero.
Channel Zero is a horror anthology and Holland was in the third season titled Butcher’s Block in which she and her sister have to discover just why the residents of the new city they’ve moved to are disappearing.
2. She’s been in several music videos.
Holland has shown up in videos for four different bands throughout her career thus far. It used to be back in the day that an actress would show up in a video once she’d become famous or just before they became a big hit. In truth it doesn’t seem like that has changed much.
1. She was in Teen Wolf.
There are several things that a werewolf can’t stand so easily against and vampires are only one of them. A banshee is a spirit from old-world lore that was supposed to herald the death of a loved one with their wail, but in popular culture has become an individual that can manipulate sound waves with devastating force, enough to kill at times. Because of their enhanced hearing werewolves are sometimes very susceptible to a banshee’s keening, which in many stories has been able to kill if left unchecked.
Holland is definitely a star with a lot of pull in the industry but would seem that TV is her niche at this point and she has yet to really impress in movies. That could easily change down the line as new faces in movies are always welcome and people are willing to give just about anyone a chance so long as they can deliver.
