It’s been five years since the plane crash occurred on Grey’s Anatomy but the new promo for the episode “In the Air Tonight” is freaking out fans. No one thought that Shonda Rhimes would ever bring up an event like this on the show again. The reactions on the internet have been wild, which brings me to the topic I wanted to discuss: plane crashes on film.
Have you ever noticed that despite how grim and “you never want to think about it” a plane crash scene is on television or in a movie that you simply cannot take your eyes off of them? My eyes were glued to the screen when I saw Fearless in the theater. When I saw Flight I Just wanted to see more and more. Yet at the same time they are so darned hard to watch. And that’s probably why Rhimes fans are wigging out over this promo.
