Some folks like upcoming co-anchor of 20/20 Amy Robach seem to know what they want fairly early to the middle of their life as they have a direction and a set way to get what it is that drives them. She’s been on her path to where she is now since college and has managed to get to that place through a lot of hard work and likely some luck at least. There have been a few pit stops along the way, but so far Amy seems like she’s where she wants to be for the most part.
The rest of us should be so lucky at times.
5. She graduated from college with high honors in Broadcast Journalism.
There are likely a lot of students that gravitate towards Journalism in some form or another since it is a very widespread major and can bring a lot of attention to those that are diligent in the kind of work that they are seeking. But in order to be great one has to stand out and become the person that others will want to pay attention to in order to get the kind of fame they want. Amy has found a way to do that obviously.
4. For four years she was over at NBC News.
This is where she got her start actually in 2003. While it’s kind of unsure whether or not she got this job right out of the gate once she as done with college it’s certain that she had her eyes set on the prize when she made her way to NBC and then started to make her climb. There was no going backward at that point, but then again the choices we make in life don’t always pan out for the best.
3. In 2013 she announced that she had breast cancer.
Eventually Amy had to undergo a bilateral mastectomy. The doctors found a malignant tumor in her other breast when they were dealing with initial issue and had to deal with both in order to see that she would come through without complications. She did manage to recover and is back doing what she loves to do after a rather speedy recovery. Obviously she’s not going to let anything take her down.
2. At one point she was 4th Runner Up for Miss Georgia.
Amy is most definitely a beautiful and determined woman and it shows in the accomplishments she’s accrued throughout her lifetime thus far. Being 4th runner up doesn’t seem like it would be something to crow about but honestly and truly just being in the competition and going that far seems impressive. Out of so many women she was deemed to be good enough to come that close to the prize.
1. NBC terminated her contract before she moved over to ABC.
There are rumors that an issue with infidelity was what caused NBC to terminate her contract. There are clauses in the contracts of many TV personalities that state that they are expected to act in a certain way as they represent their brand and their station.
That’d be tough for a lot of people.
