Whatever Happened to Sasha Jenson?

Sasha Jenson was one of the kids that you probably fell in love with watching Dazed and Confused. He did have a career before and after that but it wasn’t quite the career he that would elevate him to the kind of heights that several of his costars would see as the years went on. Sasha kind of came and went when it came to his roles on TV and in movies, almost as a glorified extra or someone that was thrown into the mix to see how he could do. The positive thing was that is acting wasn’t that bad. In fact held his own with a few good actors and made a decent name for himself, enough so that some people would possibly know who he was when the tally was taken of who was in what movie. But overall Sasha was really more of a supporting actor that never really went anywhere but had a stable career for a while.

Here are a few things you might not have known about him.

10. He’s the son of a stunt man.

His father was also an actor but not anyone that you might recognize at this point unless you follow obscure actors and stuntmen. To be fair being a stuntman is pretty important since it means that an actor is being kept safe while their double is taking all the hits and performing the dangerous moves.

9. He was in Dazed and Confused.

Parts of this film were uniquely messed up as you can see from this clip. The idea of hazing isn’t a new thing among schools but it’s something that isn’t seen all that often anymore, if at all, since it’s considered to be pretty cruel and demoralizing to many people.

8. He was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

He did’t have a huge role but it was important enough that it forced Buffy to start taking her slayer duties seriously and woke her up to the reality of vampires actually existing. Aside from that he was just another bloodsucker needing to be dealt with.

7. His first movie role was in 1986.

Sasha had a chance to be something great since starting back in the 80s at least meant that he was getting in during a time when there was still a lot of openings for those that wanted to make a name for themselves and could develop their talent as they went. Nowadays you almost have to have a fully-stocked resume or know someone in the business to get in.

6. He was in Halloween 4.

Chances are that if you’re not a main character or even a strong character in a horror movie, especially a movie like Halloween, eventually you’re going to get killed. Standing your ground is usually pretty brave and worth being recognized, but against Michael Meyers it’s like standing in front of an avalanche. He’s not going to stop unless you can blow him to pieces, and even then it’s not a guarantee.

5. He took up the role of a stuntman in a few movies.

It seems like he took after his dad for a while since he did manage to show up as a stuntman in movies like Short Circuit and Cherry 2000. Maybe he needed something to supplement his acting or perhaps he figured he could contribute in another way.

4. He was on NYPD Blue.

There aren’t a lot of great clips that don’t focus on the main characters in the show but he was there for a little while and then had to move on. This was just one of the gigs he took in his time as an actor.

3. His last appearance in a film was in 2013.

It’s uncertain if he’s still active as an actor at this point but it would seem that he’s either taking an extended leave or has perhaps decided to step away for a while since he really hasn’t done anything for a while.

2. He’s 54 years old now.

If Sasha is planning on making a comeback it seems to be long in coming since at this point there’s really been no word of him other than the nostalgic articles that pop up now and again trying to see what’s become of the old actors from some of our favorite movies.

1. He doesn’t seem to have done much in the last several years.

He’s been semi-active it seems, as though he’s been trying to hold onto his career a little bit here and there, but there’s been nothing monumental on his resume and in short it looks like he might have hung it up. When you’re a minor star that had a good run in the 80s and 90s it’s kind of hard to just pick it up and get going in this day and age.

If he comes back it’ll likely be for something that points out one of his older projects.
