No doubt you have seen an abundance of artists sharing their own renditions of Disney characters. And still, we have managed to find another gem, perhaps even the fairest of them all.
American artist Heather Theurer creates Disney-inspired oil paintings that some viewers have likened to a Renaissance art style, however, the artist herself says the style is more akin to the Pre-Raphaelites of the late 19th century.
Theurer says that her aim is not to re-create what has already been done by other artists or Disney itself – but rather to transcend the ordinary and go beyond and down the rabbit hole, in search of new meaning.
When creating her beautiful paintings, Theurer strived to go past mere physical resemblances of the cartoon characters, focusing instead on capturing and conveying their struggles, hope, and pride – attributes that wouldn’t be obvious to the naked eye.
