I have to admit that I never thought the superhero movie genre would be as gigantic as it is today. Don’t get me wrong. I always loved films like Superman as a kid and other films that would be thrown into the mix once in a while. Tim Burton changed everything with his version of Batman in 1989. Then when Iron Man came out in 2008 the roof was completely blown wide open. Sure we had The Hulk before that and some other stragglers, but it was Tony Stark that ignited this insanely bright fire of superhero movie madness.
Now it’s MCU this, and DCEU that. I’m not sure when this thing will get old but in the next 10 years we’re probably going to be seeing at least 50-100 new superhero slash comic book films on the big screen. Just like this particular movie genre had humble beginnings so did the actors who play the superheroes.
Let’s take a walk down memory lane and have a look see at what today’s (and some of yesterday’s) movie and TV superheroes looked like when they were a whole lot younger.
