Chicago PD: Sophia Bush Exits Series After 4 Seasons

Fans of the NBC drama Chicago PD will not have to wait until the fall to find out the future of Detective Erin Lindsay. Sophia Bush, who has been playing the character since the series began, will be vacating the role. This is not the first loss the series has experienced this year. Showrunner Matt Olmstead left the drama back in March. He was also the co-creator of Chicago PD.

It appears that it is Bush’s decision to leave the series. The season finale of Chicago PD saw Detective Lindsay possibly accepting a job with the FBI in New York City. Lindsay was shown in the final moments of the episode standing on a bridge and ignoring the calls from her former flame Jay, played by Jesse Lee Soffer.

There is still a possibility that Bush may appear in season five. This would give fans a chance to say their final good-byes to one of the top characters of the series. Not only will Lindsay be missed at the Chicago PD precinct, the other series will be losing a recurring character. Bush has appeared on 11 episodes of Chicago Fire, 6 episodes of Chicago Med, and 1 episode of the now cancelled Chicago Justice. Bush even guest-starred on 4 episodes of Dick Wolf’s long-running series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Bush’s exit could be good news for Jon Seda. The actor, who has played Antonio Dawson on the franchise, just lost his job with the cancellation of Chicago Justice.  Tracy Spiridakos has been filling in for series regular Marina Squerciati, who is on maternity leave. She could also be a contender for the spot in Intelligence.

Bush has been no stranger to television. She played Brooke Davis for all nine seasons of One Tree Hill from 2003-2012. Her other television credits include Nip/Tuck and Partners.
