Anyone who has a dedicated interest in astronomy or in the broader subject of science probably knows who Neil deGrasse Tyson is. Some would even argue that his life is important enough that a movie should be made about it. That begs one to ask the question, who would play him in a movie and who else would be featured? Perhaps one of the best people who could play Neil deGrasse Tyson is Donald Glover. This is a talented actor that is seasoned enough to be able to turn in a riveting performance without being too old to realistically fit into such a role. Of course, there are plenty of other actors out there of a similar age and talent level that could be used in the film. It is important to remember that this is all a matter of opinion. The truth of the matter is that some people will have a different idea about who should star in such a movie, so it is important to keep this light-hearted. After all, this is just for fun.
Any movie about Neil deGrasse Tyson is probably going to feature a lot of different characters but there are three that would be central to the movie. In fact, it would be almost impossible to make such a movie without having these characters present. They are his mother, Sunchita Marie Tyson and his father, Cyril deGrasse Tyson. The third main character would have to be Carl Sagan, the Cornell University professor that helped him get his start in the world of higher education as it relates to astronomy.
Who would play these characters? There are a lot of different choices available. It is important to know that there are literally dozens of actors that can be fit into these roles effectively. In order to keep the list short, it is important to choose just one or two that might be a good fit for these different parts. For example, Gladys Rodriguez or Sonia Noemi could play his mother while his father might be played by Denzel Washington or Ossie Davis, depending on the time frame that is involved in the movie. A couple of different choices for Carl Sagan involve Scott Glenn or Jeffrey Demunn.
Last but not least, who would direct this movie? There is certainly no shortage of high-quality directors to go around and the majority of them are capable of making a movie about practically any subject matter and knowing how to handle it the right way. For this particular type of film, the first two names that come to mind are Martin Scorsese or Michael Mann. Again, other people might have a difference of opinion and that is just fine. The hope is that such a movie will someday become a reality, regardless of who stars in it or who directs it.
