Billy Joel Will Play at Lambeau Field For the First Time in June

While the Green Bay packers were knocked out of the playoffs by Atlanta Falcons (who are now playing in the Super Bowl), Packers fans can be happy with the fact that while their team won’t be on Lambeau field anytime soon, a very famous musician will.  Billy Joel, who’s been playing what feels like every single night at Madison Square Garden has announced his first ever Green Bay concert which will take place on June 17th.   According to Packers.com

The Green Bay Packers and Live Nation are proud to announce legendary musician Billy Joel will perform at Lambeau Field, the largest venue in the state of Wisconsin, on Saturday, June 17. In appreciation of the artist and his fans, the Green Bay Packers will honor Billy Joel by making him an official shareholder of the Green Bay Packers.

“We’re proud to welcome Billy Joel to Lambeau Field and we’re excited for Green Bay to host such a celebrated musician and iconic performer,” said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. “We’re looking forward to seeing Billy put on an extraordinary show for fans of all ages against the storied backdrop of Lambeau Field.”

It’s hard to believe that in the Piano Man’s entire career that he’s never played in Green Bay, but there’s a first for everything.   Billy Joel continues to be one of the biggest concert draws in the world.  Having sold 150 million records over the past quarter century, scoring 33 consecutive Top 40 hits, Billy Joel ranks as one of most popular recording artists and respected entertainers in history.

While Joel did release an album in 2016 called “It’s My Pleasure” his record drawing concerts are mainly from his 70s and 80s years which is remarkable.  The staying power of his songs will keep him popular indefinitely.  As long as he’s able to play piano and belt out those tunes, millions will be watching.   This time, those millions will be in Green Bay
