When it comes to creepy Aubrey Plaza has been doing it since her role in Parks and Recreation. While she’s a comedian at heart, Plaza’s always had a penchant for being a little darker than most comedians. I certainly wouldn’t call it “goth” but I’d call it some kind of “depressed” culture that draws fans to her. Now that she’s on Legion, fans are really seeing the creepy come out. If you want to dive into a different kind of creepy with Plaza, you should check out the teaser trailer for Ingrid Goes West.
It’s hard to tell from this trailer if this movie is going to be serious, impactful, or just entertaining. I’m kind of hoping it sends a message to the social media community but again, very hard to tell from this trailer. The movie is about social media stalking and Aubrey Plaza is the stalker who is following the life of Elizabeth Olsen’s character. O’Shea Jackson Jr. also stars in the film.
In Ingrid Goes West, Aubrey Plaza’s Instagram obsession goes considerably further than the “let me just check on my ex and see if their life is better than mine” spectrum. She’s not content to just follow her favorite social media star (played by Elizabeth Olsen) on the internet. She sets out to worm her way into Taylor’s real life.
