Ajay Devgn is one of the most famous actors, directors, and producers in India. He’s been in the business since 1991, which means the world has had more than 30 years to watch him work. He’s been splashed across tabloids, papers, and the internet a time or two in his 30-year career, but he’s been in the news for one of the most interesting situations yet in spring 2021. He was allegedly involved in a bar fight, but he’s saying the man in the pictures is not him. It’s his doppelganger, and now everyone wants to know more about him.
1. He’s in His 50s
Ajay Devgn was born on April 2, 1969. His childhood allowed him to grow up primarily in the 70s and 80s when life was very different from what it is now. There was nowhere near as much connection and availability as there was in the past, and things didn’t happen at such a rapid pace in those days. It was a much different time.
2. He’s from Punjab
He was born and raised in a family that is Punjabi Hindu, and they lived in Amritsar, which is Punjab. He grew up there long enough to enroll in high school at the Silver Beach school in Juhu. He then decided to pursue his education and work on his studies at the Mithibai College.
3. His Family is in the Business
He is not the only person in his family to go into the show business industry. His father is a stunt choreographer. His name is Veeru Devgan. His mother, Veena, produces films, and his brother, Anil, is a screenwriter as well as a filmmaker. The entire family is in the business, essentially.
4. He Made History in an Interesting Fashion
Everyone hopes that they make some sort of impact on history at some point in their lives, and Ajay Devgn did make history. Not for something that he did, so much as something that he has, however. He went down in history as the first Bollywood star to own a private jet. He uses it as transport when he shoots.
5. He Changed the Spelling of His Last Name
It’s unclear why his family asked him to change the spelling of his last name, but they did so. Rumor has it that they wanted him to drop the A from Devgan, and he did. Now he is Ajay Devgn rather than Ajay Devgan. They requested he do so, but why? We don’t know.
6. He’s Religious
Devgn is very much into his religion and his faith. He is a practicing Shaiva Hindu. He is often seen in his own films wearing traditional garments of his religion. One of the most famous being the Rudraksha.
7. He’s Married
Ajay Devgn has had a string of high-profile relationships. He dated famed actress Karisma Kapoor while they worked on a project together. That relationship lasted only until 1995. He then made the decision to date another actress by the name of Kajol Mukherjee. They began dating in 1995. They went through a phase when most people said they would never last because of their vast differences and the lack of anything that they had in common. They married in 1999, and they remain married more than 20 years later.
8. He Has Kids
Devgn and his wife share two kids. They had their first daughter in 2003. Her name is Nysa. Their second child, son Yug, was born in 2010. When he was born, he and his wife made the decision to keep his umbilical cord blood as well as tissue stored in a bank in case they ever need his stem cells for future health issues.
9. He’s Concerned
Following what can only be described as a brawl between two groups of men in Dehli, he issued a statement that says it was not him, he has not traveled anywhere, and he’s made no trips to Dehli. The man in the fight is clearly a lookalike, and he wants his friends, family, and those he’s worked with in the past to know that it is not him, though he does appreciate all the concerned calls.
10. His Wife is Highly Successful
While he’s the one in the news as of late, his wife, Kajol, has often been discussed as being one of the Hindi cinema’s most famous actresses. She’s worked on some of the most prolific projects around, and she’s been in the business a long time. The two might not appear to have much in common, but they clearly have what it takes to make their marriage of more than 20 years work well.
