However, it was his portrayal of the legendary Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis that truly catapulted the 31-year-old into the limelight.
The film, which delves into the life of the “King of Rock and Roll” and his complex relationship with manager Colonel Tom Parker, received a twelve-minute standing ovation at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. With a strong score on Rotten Tomatoes and a worldwide box office gross of over $275 million, Elvis has undoubtedly been a massive hit.
From Disney Channel Beginnings to Hollywood Success
Before landing the role of a lifetime, Austin Butler had to start somewhere. Like many young actors, he began his career on the Disney Channel, starring in popular shows like Hannah Montana and later transitioning to Nickelodeon with roles in early and Zoey 101.
